Who actually heard the Infinity IRS?
russ69   They are aluminum mounted on a substrate. Not true ribbons but I believe Infinity called them ribbons, Infinity was careful to not call them ribbons, because they'd used ribbons in some of their earlier speaker models (such as ...

tsushima1 I was merely pointing out that there exists a small minded little group of individuals ... You are correct about the "small minded" individuals. I'm one of them but I don't know how large our "little group" is. My actu...
Equalizer connection question
smallmouthrule I have preamp out to equalizer in and equalizer out to main in on 9090db. The equalizer has power but no display bars with music playing. Not sure what is going on. If your preamp has a tape loop, that's the best place to ...

ozzy It is until one of your threads gets removed because of posters just out to destroy open conversation with negative, rude comments. Yup, that's a problem for sure. Just take a look at this thread!
Who actually heard the Infinity IRS?
doyle3433 ... we had a customer who owned them. I recall he blew out the mid size ribbon drivers frequently. There are no ribbon drivers in the IRS system. They're planars.
Who actually heard the Infinity IRS?
I've heard the Infinity IRS system in two different setups, but I can't recall what series either one was. The first was a demo by Mike Kay at Lyric in Manhattan, probably around 1980. He was using all ARC electronics and the big Goldmund Studio ...
PS Audio PowerPlant 12 Review (AC Regenerator)
There are all kinds of problems with this "review." Among them: The unit was acquired used, so there’s no assurance that it was functioning properly and - more important - PS Audio wasn’t given an opportunity to respond. So it’s just a hatchet job...

Testing stylus wear.
What you're suggesting is a guess, not a test. That's because you're assuming that the new cartridge is undamaged and within spec. Styli can certainly be assessed for wear using a microscope, but you need to know what you're looking for, which ar...

Denver and Front Range furniture maker -- just did my audio rack!
That is a beautiful rack! Lovely work! larry5729                     What still amazes me is to be sent a local real estate listing and to see a $5,000 entertainment cabinet with a 65" TV with no speakers to listen to th...

You've already proclaimed snake oil and dismissed responses that rely on experience, so it looks like your mind is made up. Buy what you like and good luck to you.
Why this forum deletes full threads ?
alwynlarryv     Why was Millercarbon removed? Why do you think he was "removed?" Many things could explain his absence. Whatever is responsible, I only hope it's not health related.
Moderation/Censorship Poll and surely more...
I think the rules here are fine. As I've noted before, those that protest most loudly against moderation usually have the least to contribute. Also, moderation ≠ censorship. They are two different things.
Is there a solid fuse-like item that I can use in place of a fuse, to bypass it?
holmz Sound measurements would help. The “trust ye ear” deal is getting old Feel free to conduct your own measurements and share them here, if you like.
