Simaudio Moon integrated replacement remote
You can try to find something like a Logitech Harmony 650 (now discontinued, but you might find new stock somewhere) or get a Sofa Baton.
I found audio nirvana....
Don't let the naysayers bring you down, @jackhifiguy. if you're happy with your simple system, that is all that counts. For you. I think a big factor to living a happy life is keeping many elements as simple as possible. That has worked well for ...
How To Keep Cat Off Stereo Equipment?
Re-home the cat.
What to do?
kenrus I just bought a significantly (I hope!) better Ethernet cable ... I’m starting to wonder if I should, instead, run it from the Brysto to the DAC? The Bryston BDP doesn't offer an ethernet output, does it?
McIntosh MC901's internal active crossover & speaker's internal passive crossover
@erik_squires what you're essentially claiming is that any speaker that can be biwired can also be biamplified - that the two terms are interchangeable. That's simply mistaken and, as I noted, easily tested with a DMM or VOM.
McIntosh MC901's internal active crossover & speaker's internal passive crossover
erik_squires Almost all speakers I’ve seen with 2 sets of inputs and external jumpers separate the crossovers internally.  Otherwise, why have jumpers?? Agreed, biwiring doesn't make much sense and neither do the jumpers. When you biwire, ...
McIntosh MC901's internal active crossover & speaker's internal passive crossover
A biwirable speaker provides a separate path for lo and hi frequencies, but they are still joined electrically at the xover. A biamplified speaker provides electrically isolated paths for the two frequency bands. That's the difference between the ...
McIntosh MC901's internal active crossover & speaker's internal passive crossover
erik_squires A properly wired speaker for bi-wiring separates out the crossover sections entirely internally. This is mistaken. What you have described is a speaker designed for biamplification. Biamplifying and biwiring are two different thin...
McIntosh MC901's internal active crossover & speaker's internal passive crossover
carlsbad2 ... the Mc901.  It is a hybrid amp that wants to drive your woofers with solid state and your mids and tweeter with tube.  To do this your speakers have to be set up for biwiring ... No, the speakers need to be made for biamplify...
Converting from 230v to 110 v
lou_setriodes ... If anyone is interested in how I converted from 60 to 50 Hz on an AC motor (on my Ariston TT), I’ll be happy to advise. Changing the motor pulley is usually the simplest way to do that.
Can US 220 Volts Be Used On European 220 V Amp?
lou_setriodes I got a 220V power supply and a power inverter that’s used on boats and plugged the power inverter into the power supply .. works like a charm. I wouldn't want an inverter near my system. I think it's better to use gear designed ...
Can US 220 Volts Be Used On European 220 V Amp?
lou_setriodes Changing from 50 to 60 Hz or vice versa will impact the speed of a cd player, cassette deck, reel to reel and a TT. That's only strictly true with synchronous motors. Others, such as DD, may not be affected. However, they may hav...
Premium Power Cable Survey: The Results Are IN
hilde45 There are a sufficient number of reasonable and intelligent people testifying to hearing something that even with all the variables involved, there should be a high confidence that changing power cords can "make a difference" to sound. ...
Premium Power Cable Survey: The Results Are IN
clearthinker ... the purpose of a blind test is to determine whether one individual can hear differences with his hearing ... That is a misnomer. Yes, you could conduct a blind test with a single listener, but it would only yield a single ...
Premium Power Cable Survey: The Results Are IN
clearthinker The survey was of OPINIONS.  Not hearing.  It has no value ... This is a hobbyist's group that is full of opinions. If opinions have no value to you, what are you doing here?
