Thanks guys, the NHT, Silverline and Teac (didn't even see those and that's where I bought the thing) all look interesting. Rar1 interesting comment on the Omegas but not surprising.Totems = nice speakers but not for this application.Tannoy Presti...

Thanks Duke, I appreciate the reply, I've spoken to you on the phone and very much respect your opinion. Now I'll just wait and see whether she wants to put it in her living room or her kitchen where her current stereo is, my p's house has an open...
stereo for someone special
I decided to take the plunge. The cd portion of my mom's sharper image stereo has been acting up and then for some reason my dad got her an i-pod. So I decided now was my chance to act and got her this Teac. Now I just need to find some speakers, ...
Billy Cobham's Spectrum
Excellent album! I also have the original US pressing and it is much better than the cd. I love Tommy Bolin's guitar playing check out his albums Teaser and Private Eyes if you've never heard them.
Music Reference RM 200 vs. Mcintosh 275 amp
I can't offer any opinion on the comparison as I've never heard the McIntosh but I am a very happy owner of both a Music Reference RM-200 and RM-10.I found Blbloom's comment unusual in that my experience Roger has always been a pleasure to deal wi...

stereo for someone special
Good luck! I've been trying to do the same for my mom (who loves music) for years and she has ZERO or even less interest. I guess she figures her living room would end up looking like mine even though I've told her it doesn't have to.
How to eliminate FM RF coming thru turntable?
I had a very similar problem also with a gyro se using a stock rb300 arm. In my case it was the tonearm cable picking up an am signal, I have no idea why but I was able to virtually eliminate it by reversing the phono inputs into the phono pre (pl...
Jeff Beck's Bass Player on Crossroads??
and smokin' hot. Probably no one will believe me but the dvd seems to have been digitally "de-enhanced". As anyone who was there will know it apparently was very cold on stage : ) and the effects are not to be seen on the dvd. Even my female cousi...
Vandersteen 1c, and an integrated
Yes, the RM-10 really is an excellent match for the 1b's. I don't think they're that hard to drive, I also used a passive pre although not Roger's. Coincidentally there is another thread about powering Proac 1sc's which is what I now have hooked u...
Vandersteen 1c, and an integrated
As a current owner of 1B's I can tell you they sound fantastic with a Music Reference RM-10 which could probably be found used and paired with Roger's pot in a box for right around your budget.
Crossroads 2007....
Thanks for the heads up, I was there and the whole thing was fantastic. I hope Jeff Beck makes it onto this video as I thought he stole the show, his bass player was pretty ok too.
Levinson 23.5 vs. 331 amplifiers - warm vs. cool?
That's a nice amp, how does it sound compared to your friend's 331? Personally if that's the amp I was going to run I would deal with the electric bill and leave it on all the time. Both because I think my 27 sounds much better when it has been on...
