Cartridge options going forward
I have cognitive dissonance thinking that an elderly Japanese gentleman is the last living repository of such skill and knowledge. What - when he dies, Lyra effectively goes out of business? You have no idea what you’re talking about. Mr. Jonatha...
Which turntable should I choose?
Joe, another fellow audiogonner @luisma31 replaced his DL103 MM with this NOS Pickering XSV/3000SP (MM) on Technics GR turntable. You have to read his opinion about it. The XSV/4000 is next model from Pickering and no doubt it will put DL-110 in t...
Cartridge options going forward
Did you try any other cartridges besides Lyra ? What's the budget?
Stylus for Shure v15 iii cartridge
SAS last for 2000 hrs at least, like MicroRidge
Internal Wire Upgrade for SME V
In my opinion once you're buying a High-End tonearm on SME V level it's better to stick to the original tonearm internal cable unless there is a problem you can't live with. There are some people who always think they are smarter than all the engi...
Internal Wire Upgrade for SME V
The stock cable on SME V tomearm is GOOD ENOUGH, period. Internal wiring Capacitance 15.0 pF per channelResistance 0.5353 ohms per conductor It was designed and used by SME engineers for any cartridges mounted on this tonearm, and this is NOT c...
Internal Wire Upgrade for SME V
I would probably go with AudioNote instead of these cheap kits, but - why not? It’s up to you. I have replaced internal wires only when original was broken.Been using Cardas, Discovery, Van Den Hul silver, never used Audio Note silver (that one ...
Internal Wire Upgrade for SME V
Replacing stock cable is the last thing you can do, really. There are many more things in your analog chain you can upgrade with much more noticeable results than an internal tonearm wire.
Stylus for Shure v15 iii cartridge
Buy JICO SAS if you can’t find an original, the rest are junk, except JICO SAS (Super Analog Stylus).
What is this cartridge?
So basically, it looks to be one of the first MC cartridges. First MONO MC invented by Ortofon (Denmak) First Stereo MC invented by Grado (USA) Grado timeline here
Which turntable should I choose?
Great cartridges for Technics tonearms are Pickering and Stanton top model, NEW OLD STOCK like this. Stereohedron stylus is as good as the Shibata. The benefit of the MM is user replaceable stylus, but replacing a stylus with Hana MC will be a dis...
What is this cartridge?
It look like this and very similar to this Grado cartridge   Brooklyn-born Joseph Grado attended a trade school, but he dropped out at 17 to join the Navy. He studied watch making at vocational school and after the Navy was able to secure a positi...

Internal Wire Upgrade for SME V
No, you don't have to. It's not necessary, you'd better upgrade a cartridge. Silver is not better than Copper even if you want to believe it is better.
