System for Yacht Linn Classik with Rogers LS3/5As (all used) will come in under 2K and be magnificent. The current smallest Spendor will also work and be a bit more dynamic.
Need help on speaker choice The original Martin Logan CLS (before they beefed up the panel to handle more wattage) is still generally considered to be a reference against many should be compared. Ocassionally found used for under $2000. They really are wonderful.
Methods for transfer of albums to CD I've gone a completely different direction with my Philips CDR 880 which of course is stand alone. Results are very good and you simply integrate it into your system without having you turntable hanging around the computer.

TUNERS..anyone? Luxman tuners of late 70s early 80s vintage still outperform the venerable Yamahas. Smoother, better selectivity.
Inexpensive Amp and Speakers JC, I would go in a completely different direction. The powered Swans might be found used for under $200 and unless you MUST have a tuner you would solve a lot of problems simply.
Linn Classic--Any Alternatives? For your kitchen, why wouldn't the NAD L-40 work? I've owned the Linn, it's sweet and I own the NAD, it's also very listenable at a fraction of the price.
What is the rating of KEF LS3/5A? Keep the KEFs. They are wonderful. Avoid the several mistakes people make with this speaker. Don't overdrive it by placing it in too large of a room as it is a near field monitor and pair it with very decent equipment.
Integrated amps, need some help Love the Arcam and Cyrus amps. He's right about build quality and sound. Beats the new stuff hands down. An old ONIX would also be right.
