Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord? Just catching up on this thread. Despite the promises made here, I’m sad to conclude they appear nothing more than a total scam. The apparent delays of the offers and alleged close are the tells. I hope I’m proved wrong. But that’s my take from my...
Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic @taras22 A term from curling, “hurry hard”?
Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic @almarg I have one of those MIT Digital Interface cables having a box attached. Too scared to even try using it in this method. https://photos.app.goo.gl/eERaKiEvNJZvyids8
Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic My apologies to Teo Audio for inadvertently borrowing their “double double” phrase. I’ll refer to the above HAVE assemblies as “Dual StarQuad” assemblies.
Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic Here is a pic of the Dual StarQuad assembly for one channel. The 2 cables have a loose twist, inserted into a black mesh sheath and then a shrink wrap is applied at the RCA connectors. https://photos.app.goo.gl/84zWpkB3toFuMMJw6
Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic If one wants to try a conventional "double-double" with Canare Microphone cable to avoid use of the Y-splitters, then I have the following recommendation for you that I found to work extremely well (2 FT pair tested at this point). Contact Gary P....
Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic @mrdecibel I think the MA assemblies with the SSI tech wires are “conventional” in nature (think Canare Starquad but only at a much higher level with respect to one type of conductor).
Am I using the right speaker cables? Let’s review:(1) cable burn-in won’t solve bad cable connections;(2) speaker placement in room won’t solve bad cable connections;(3) cable brand changes won’t solve bad cable connections; and (4) equalization won’t solve bad cable connections, BUT...
AES/EBU suggestions for Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ and PS Audio PerfectWave Transport I recommend Have Inc. I own three of these puppies. Canare cable and Neutrik XLR connectors are pro gear. Highly rated. And $25 for a 2ft run. Sure, you can spend $400 on the Kimber cable but why break the bank? Here’s a link: http://store.haveinc...
Have transports improved for Redbook CD playback? What’s it mean to be a “single speed player,” such as the Primeforce CDT-8 Pro?Are universal players multi-speed players? And don’t Redbook players vary speed as a function of disc reading location?
XLR out on a tuner? @n80. Weird.
XLR out on a tuner? Al, 1+Denon appears to adjust their output voltages as they seem fit. It’s 500mV for both outputs of the DN-300H (otherwise, they would have stated so if they differed). It’s different for their internet tuner, but they do specify output level dif...
What makes tape sound better than vinyl ? My recollection of the tape vs vinyl comparisons stemmed largely from comparing open reel to reel tapes at 30ips vs 33rpm vinyl. Under only those circumstances did tape even come close to besting vinyl. Now if one talks about open mic recordings o...
XLR out on a tuner? As Cleeds said, if they used an op-amp on the XLR outputs to “split” the signal for balanced output, then each signal conductor would carry 1/2 the voltage. So that likely explains the equivalent voltage outputs from both balanced and single-ended...
Have transports improved for Redbook CD playback? Ok. Bad look up from your earlier post. Thanks. |
