Class D is just Dandy!
@georgehifiI understood your input to me as not trashing class D designs, per se. They differ among themselves as much as designs within categories of other topologies do. Sometimes the output devices (in this case—for our discussion—Duntech and D...
Class D is just Dandy!
@erik_squiresAs is the case with most of what we are taught as our understanding, we must be willing to surrender our understanding to gain insight into truth. There will always be those who refuse to surrender their understanding to learn truths....
Class D is just Dandy!
Pretty sure the Dunlavy SC’s didn’t vary much at all from the Duntech speakers. The SC’s have a nice impedance response (6-ohms). The Spectron Musician III amp has a fairly low output impedance (< 0.1-ohms) and a high damping factor (500:1). Ni...
what did I do to my Oppo/Modwright UDP-205 ?
Unplug the Oppo and it’s power supply (?—is this an after market PS?) for an hour. Then plug everything in and play a disk.
Class D is just Dandy!
I just spent the last hour catching up on this entire thread. @erik_squiresWell done, my friend! You’ve navigated a wonderfully positive thread. @georgehifi Great contributions throughout. I very much would like to have seen the YouTube videos fro...
New TEO Audio ICs, who has them?
Just caught up on cable cryo treatment threads here in the Forum. Probably not a good idea to cryo-treat the Teo Audio liquid metal fluid conductors. Just a reminder about the novel materials in play with the Teo Audio conductors vs solid wire con...
Best sounding tube for Audible Illusions M3A preamp?
@elizabeth where did you find the Reflektor tubes at that price?
Audible Illusions M3B question
OP. You’re lucky only having to wait 6 months for the new unit. I’m glad you are happy with the unit.
Harmon Kardon ST-7 with Rabco Tonearm
I owned two used HK ST-7 tables with the Rabco arm. Most finicky tonearm to calibrate and consistently maintain. Owned all the relevant repair manuals back in the day. Essential to have them on hand. I junked both tables.
All Quiet on the Oppo front?
Oppo will post a notice on their website page about the ‘205 player once they have sold out of product.
Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
To be fair, the three new items of the CPT post are: (a) the front company (which is a real outfit); a new contact email address (though I personally don’t know if it works); and Kemper’s involvement. I would hope Kemper has the integrity to move ...
If not an Oppo 205 then what?
The Oppo players are today’s current rage. Let’s see what replaces them going forward.
Has anyone tried these stunning new CPT power cord?
Note this “updating” post is more of the same as before. To wit:1. A promise of a new ownership group;2. The alleged “close” is date uncertain (usually term sheets specify a “close no later than date X” rather than “close as early as date Y”); and...
Cable Burn In
My advice is not to worry about cable burn in. It will happen regardless, so why fret over it? And if you fret over it, then go out and buy a cable burner if you believe that will allay your concerns. But then you will fret over which cable burner...
All Quiet on the Oppo front?
Odd in the sense it is the contributor’s very first post on any A’gon forum thread. Sorry for the incomplete thought. I hope these gougers never get the price they are asking. Sure, the Oppo ‘205 is a value at $1300. Not sure if it is much above t...
