21 year old AV receiver - waiting for the end? There might be a little smoke and smell. there might be some static or hum. But most likely one channel will quietly quit making music. Jerry
Rear speakers duplicating main speaker sound from TV source? what rear speakers? I do have rear surround speakers but they only play when I have a dolby 5+ channel feed through a totally different signal path. So I'm guessing you have your AV reciever set to something like "all channel stereo" where...
Help settle a streaming argument! Playing moderator here: Nobody has said what an expensive streamer does differently than a budget streamer. Are bits dropped? Are the output files supposed to be identical or does a streamer have lattitude is translating a data file to a music ...
Speaker spikes-worse sound-what gives? Nothing has changed in the 20 years since this was posted.
How easily can you distinguish between different DACs? To me the DAC is the signature component of a digital system and easy to hear the differences. Synergistic element copper good for power amp? Power, speaker, or signal cables?
Another dilemma about a right choice for best possible speaker option. I assume you need sensitive speakers for use with an SET. Not many options there. In that price range look for a used higher end full size Tekton speaker. No better sensitive speaker out there. Jerry
At what price is one considered an Audiophile. +1 @nonoise re: your soul.
Redundant Internet @erik_squires I'll check. I'd hate to give you misinformation.
At what price is one considered an Audiophile. While people are idealistically saying cost doesn't matter, it is hard to be an audiophile with a $12 pair of Amazon Basics computer speakers. |
