Dealing with a power amp that need 20A connection
Jim, I'm curious to hear your thoughts on pig-tailed vs. daisy-chained wiring of outlets, if you have the time. Not necessarily per audio requirements, but in general. TIA
Buying my 1st new LP in 42 years..Suggestions?

Son of Dracula - Harry Nilsson probably last listened to it 40 years ago, wow
To buy grounded or not to buy grounded. That is the question.
The term I haven’t seen in this thread yet is "Double Insulated". In any power tool, you might see a typical three-prong plug, or only a two-prong plug. In the latter, the tool is often labeled as double-insulated, meaning that it has been designe...
Paradigm Persona series
In all the speaker threads I've read here (maybe not enough yet), I've never seen any mention of what I would think would be a very important factor. How good is the owner's hearing? I mean, it's not like our hearing remains constant throughout ou...
Lowering House Grounding Impedance
Jim, interesting, and I don't know the answers. I wish I had a better understanding of the real world differences and interactions of the grounded (neutral) and grounding conductors. Thanks for the link, I'll check back.
Lowering House Grounding Impedance
What you described is the code requirement currently, as I understand it. The grounding connection is a safety requirement. Barring an electrical issue, it shouldn't be doing anything at all. Again, that's how I understand it.

Tower vs Similar Bookshelf?
I answered you a moment ago in your earlier thread, n80. The bookshelf really never keeps the cost down, because you have to add stands to get an equivalent sound. Or, put them on shelves, etc, and ignore the difference. It's not just better bass,...

n80, what you get out of a "tower" speaker is the drivers up at a proper height, and the ability to move them around. You can have this with bookshelf speakers if you put them on a proper stand, but if they're just on a shelf, the sound will suffe...
Replacing my stand mount speakers
kubarony, did you have the S4's on stands? The reason I ask, a few years ago I bought a pair of Studio 10's, which I loved. I had them sitting on a pair of old speakers to raise them up. After several months, I bought the J29 stands, and was amaze...

I bought a pair of Polk Audio TSi200's for my son a couple of years ago.  https://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-TSi200-Bookshelf-Speakers/dp/B0018QROCC  I was amazed by how good they sounded.
If you could only keep 5 record albums, what would they be?
Dire Straits - Dire Straits Eva Cassidy - Nightbird Eagles - Greatest Hits Norah Jones - Come Away With Me Counting Crows - August and Everything After then I looked up one post and saw rich’s ’Graceland’....crap, probably gonna bump Norah...
Going to have a dedicated line installed- What should i know to ask for?
Sometimes, it's just a matter of luck. Our house was built in 1952, the original wiring was two-wire, w/o ground. The boxes are all metal, and are (from all I've seen) grounded separately from the circuits. It's dead quiet, zero hum.  In the twent...

The NEC is the National Electrical Code in the U.S. Covers every state. Personally, I’d run 12 wire for 20amps, rather than 14, there’s virtually no difference in the price of the material, compared to the job as a whole. Beyond that, I’ve no idea...
