What’s really hurting the audio hobby?
I think that a lot of the enthusiastic audiophiles are getting a little older as I am and are pretty happy with the systems they have. Maybe try a few of the tweaks as they come along, but mostly enjoy the music.
Happy 4th of July

Why No McIntosh Recommendations?
I have listened to numerous McIntosh products through the years. I've also had 'heart-to-heart' talks with McIntosh dealers. Bottom line is that McIntosh tube products tend to sound much better than their solid state counterparts. Overall, if a co...
Good Product or Nonsense?
I have used Optrix and/or other products for years and have found that in most cases an improvement in audio/video performance can be predictably achieved. Getting the right combination of 'tweaks' for a given system takes some time and patience, ...

CD no more produced?
Best source for CD(s) and virtually all digital media can be found at https://www.secondspin.com/.I most definitely agree that commercial CD(s) are much better than any streaming option that I've experienced, especially given all the very effectiv...

I had an ARC CD-2 for several years and enjoyed it the entire time. I have auditioned the subsequent ARC models and have observed the improvement in performance at each level. The ARC CD-2 unit, however, is still relevant in as much as it has a ve...
Losing Touch
Can only speak for myself and observations of others over time. I enjoy putting mixers/playlists together and sharing with friends and family. There's some excellent music being recorded from Christian artists and I feel the heartfelt dedication c...
Losing Touch
Well, I've been audiophile for about 50 years now. I'm 'losing touch' with a lot of music I've listened to at various points along the way. As a Christian my interest in music follows along the lines that if Christ was there in the listening room ...
how is this possible
Been there, done that! One time was enough to learn a needed lesson.
This is pretty funny and probably true for most of us
My Dunlavy SC-Vs are coffin size already!
Too Much Power?
If there's a problem, it's that you will be paying for a lot more power than you will ever need. Manufacturers love to make you think that more power is better HI FI. This simply is not true. Some of the best systems are powered by no more that 10...
