Have you tried SILCLEAR from Mapleshade?
As Nrchy has said I've used SilClear and continue to use it. I even had a friend who tried it on lightbulbs and it helped the contact. I've read about the other 2 but for the cost of the SilClear the improvement was dramatic enough I can't justify...
Dogs and wobbly speakers
Slappy, What about clamping the speakers to the granite slab. Raise the slabs by putting 1x2"s under the granite and then a C-clamp to lock the stand base to the granite slab. You could even leave the spikes on. No holes in the floor and I don't t...
Anyone Heard the DeVore Silverbacks?
I had the opportunity to hear them at In Living Stereo when I was visiting in NYC. They had just changed the placement over the weekend when I went in on a Friday. It was the same equipment set up that was mentioned by Prfont. Jonathan was great t...
Will a more resolving CDP improve my system?
Chiho, I'm going to take a different approach. I too have the Soliloquy 6.3's, a wonderful , underrated speaker. Like Newbee I'm using older gear that was built in the 70's that sounds wonderful. What don't you like about the sound of your system?...
Concrete or Wood floor in listening room?
Mike, I've seen concrete work but I would float a floor if I had the chance. 2X6 or 2X8 with 12 or 16 inch centers would be great for flooring on a concrete slab. You didn't say what your equipment is so it makes it a little bit harder but I've he...
Review of Blue Circle BC 86 AC Line Conditioner
Tripper, I was one of the receivers of the NoiseHound going through the group that Rooze is talking about. After reading this post I had the same thinking that you did. How could plugging something into the PS600 affect the sound when the purpose ...
New York, New York - Audio Stores?????
Don't forget In Living Stereo on E. 4th. Jonathan is very knowledgable and helpful even for someone who is just visiting.
Cable recommendation for Soliloquy 6.3's?
I went a different route with my 6.3's. My friends are using Purist wire and they got me started. I'm currently using Museaus Shotgun Biwire for speaker cables. A very natural sound with the 6.3's, they seem to like biwireing, and SS amp. I notice...
Mapleshade records: Pick the best of
Sean, C-Nuts and J Street Jumpers makes through the rotation for me. One that hasn't been mentioned is Tony Williamson. Great recording. Sort of a combination of blue grass, cajun with some blues and jazz highlights. Reading the liner is a treat a...
Big Stupid Warm Speakers
The speakers that squidboyw has are the B&W 808's that uppermidfi and Davehrab are referring to. They will give you all that you are looking for and more. Power hungry but worth it. You need Acrobat Reader for the file on them. B&W 808
What concert or music DVD's are worth having?
Bela Fleck and the Fleshtones, Live at the Quick. Tower Records
Traditional looking speakers
I normally don't post about speakers due to somewhat limited experience but I go along with Clbeanz. With your room size the Soliloquy could be one to check up on. You can check my virtual system to see the 6.3 in place. Website is here Soliloquy ...

I don't know if driving 2500 miles with an 83 year old lady is wimping out but man, I wish I was going to be there, Nate. If anyone is thinking of going to Green Bay for this I highly recommend that you do. Great people and great gear all within 1...
