Is the 2.5 way speaker the ideal home speaker?
It’s been a while since I posted but this discussion is good. In 2004 I bought on an Audiogon auction the Soliloquy 6.3 2.5 way speakers designed by Phil Jones. An excellent review can be found here including crossover specs: https://www.thefreeli...
Need FLEXIBLE Power Cord .
One that isn't mentioned very much is Black Sands Cables out of Canada.  Wonderful cables and they were wonderful to deal with.  A friend and I did a shoot-out with his 5 to 6 thousand dollar power cables plus DIY and they fell short by what we he...
Audio Metallurgy GA-0 interconnects
I have mainly Purist cables in my system but the cable from my source to pre is the GA-o.  I think it adds quite a bit to the soundstage and is just a good all around cable.  You do need to be careful with it though.  No kinks or hard bends.
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound?
Brad, I would be curious on the link also.  It doesn't appear in your post but I have been looking for DIY panel material.Bossman
Have you ever tried a pair of speakers and said this Is the last thing I will ever need.
I'll go one better by pure luck.  It was the early 2000's and I have a friend that is an audiofool and I have enjoyed his system over the years and also got me interested in Audiogon.  A pair of speakers I had been reading about but never heard, t...
Soliloquy 6.3 amp?
I've had the Soliloquy 6.3's in my system since 2003 and no matter what I have thrown at the speakers component or cable wise the speakers let you hear it. They sounded very good with a 7 Watt SET amp all the way up to the Butler TDB2250 that I am...
Anyone here have a memory ?

Differences between cable sound.
Elizabeth, love the answer. The cable question again. I've been around here a long time and I tried explaining to him what I thought and maybe I didn't know the right words for a newbie. Explaining PRAT, sibilance, brightness, zing on the top end,...
Mapeshade cable lifts or any cable lifts?
The 1969 yellow with the black stripes and blackout hood, that's the car I want when I win the lottery. :-) I remember when Mark Donahue brought out the AMC Javelins. That was some racing. And your right, I'm not married so the beer bottles are fi...
Mapeshade cable lifts or any cable lifts?
I use 22 oz bomber beer bottles filled with sand and then wooden skewers to make a V for the cables. Works great and I can change the motif by using micro-brew or German beer bottles to change. Stone Brewing and Capital Brewing are great silk scre...
High Powered Wireless Network for Audio
Almarg,I'll add to your comments by adding once you get into the 192.xxx.xxx.xxx domain you are only checking your internal (LAN) network and not the (WAN) network you are connecting to. I was project manager with installing AT&T data circuits...
High Powered Wireless Network for Audio
CW,I will make this recommendation since although the consensus to get a better router is a very good one; I will say your idea to switch from DSL to cable is a good one. When they come to your place to install the cable, make sure you are there a...

Cable Elevators - What do you use?
I use pint or bomber beer bottles with sand in the bottom for weight and long wooden skewers to form a "V" to hold the cable. I elevate all my cables. I haven't heard a difference between the British and German ales however. :-)Bossman
First Post, Looking to buy Amp& Pre, $7,000
Mdp,I lurk more than respond but what you said about a little bit on the warm side and maybe tubes or SS I had to respond. You can see my original system under my systems list. I will remember to never list my system as "Done for now." :-) The Sol...
