Preamps with balanced ins/outs and remote
Two thoughts: A McIntosh C2300 preamp. Also, if you ever go to a music server, you can use SmartGain (included with ripping software like dBPoweramp) to level the relative volume of various digital files.
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Ultimatezap - I can't help you with the speaker comparisons, but I will caution you regarding the Ohms: Allow plenty of break-in time. If you've read this thread, then you you should have a rough idea of what to expect as the Walsh drivers break i...
CDs: Deep Storage
Also, check bagsunlimited.com for lower cost, if not free, options.
Connecting Windows PC to DAC
FWIW, a friend is using the Musical Fidelity USB-to-RCA converter (not a DAC), with satisfying results. I have heard the system and it sounded fantastic to me. This is one of the cheaper options out there, too.
Squeezebox Touch repair?
Logitech says they are continuing to provide customer support for Squeezebox products. Have you tried calling them?

+1 John! I can attest that what JohnnyR @ Audioconnection is saying is spot on, IME. I am now borrowing a different amplifier for my rig, and with the Ohm Walsh 2000s, I am once again getting a seemless blend between subs and mains. Yet, and this ...
Need speaker advice
FWIW, part of the problem may be that Dynaudio no longer sells their drivers OEM. Alan has revised his speakers to use non-Dynaudio drivers, I think. So, part of the expense may be finding some NOS tweeters, or, perhaps Dynaudio makes replacement ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
The D Sonics and the Wyred 4 Sound Class D amps seem to be the most high value in terms of watts/dollar when looking at 500 watts/channel. The Arions I am now borrowing, IIRC, are priced at $4500/pr, with the tube hybrid version priced at $6K/pr. ...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Well - Props to Mapman and other Ohm Walsh owners who have stressed the importance of sufficient wattage. I had the opportunity to borrow from Mike Kalellis, of MK Audio, a pair of his Arion monoblock amps (not the tube hybrid model, but the stand...
Best "Giant Killer" Value Cables For...
My go-to lower price cable seller is Audio Art. I have one pair of ICs and just bought a power chord from Rob Fritz of Audio Art. Very easy fellow to work with, good sounding cables - very smooth and detailed - well made and they have a good retur...
Weakest Link? Your honest opinions.
Narticus - In a similar vein to Elizabeth's post, you might also try to identify what you dislike about your system as a whole first, then methodically determine which component (or maybe the room) is causing it, or at least emphasizing it.For exa...
Now That You've Ripped Your Entire Collection...
I'm at roughly the halfway point in my ripping program. I am keeping everything. First, I still use CDs in the car. Second, I haven't yet been able to fully trust hard drives, even with backups. Even when I eventually upgrade to a solid state driv...
Vandersteen 2WQ
Timo62 - Because the amp in the 2Wq rolls in, 1st order, below 80Hz, reaching full output at 40Hz and below, and the high pass filter rolls off below 80Hz, first order, your mains should be able to output smoothly down to about 40Hz or below. If n...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
Yup, unique is the right word. Blue Circle doesn't have any mention of the BM2 on its web site, including in the History section. Too bad.
Duevel omni's
There are a few direct sellers who offer no return option. I agree it must cost them business. I recall one seller who offers two price structures; one price with a return option, and a lower price with no return option. That kinda makes sense to ...
