How does Berning ZH270 compare to Cary Cad211 AE ?
>> 03-09-06: Khokugo>> ....>> IMO if you are seeking the true sound of what is>> recorded (and pressed), then ZH270 may be the way to go.IMHO, from my experience with the ZH270, I find the same: good sound but very little o...

TECH GURU's out there, how to clean Circuit Board?
Seandtaylor99,my good man, I did read Rapogee's original post very well. Yes, I noted that it "works perfectly but I believe its not a healthy thing".even if the gear is working perfectly, electronics & "some greasy stuff and cat hair all over...
TECH GURU's out there, how to clean Circuit Board?
Seandtaylor99,perhaps you did not read Rapogee's original post correctly. I cut & pasted here: "Older Rotel amp, there some greasy stuff and cat hair all over the internal board, very dirty and grimy....."greasy stuff will not be blasted off b...
TECH GURU's out there, how to clean Circuit Board?
well, 1st unplug from the wall. ensure that the power supply caps are discharged before you stick your hand inside the chassis. best would be if you can disassemble the portion of the amp that needs cleaning. this way you can conveniently handle t...
Wadia ?
agree that Wadia has had 1 too many financial hiccups that would give its client base a scare & would want them to run elsewhere w/ their money.I understand that in the latest financial shuffle that took place in the latter half of 2005 the ma...
CAT SL-1 MK III vs. First Sound Presence DeLuxe
Frankpiet, welcome! That's strange! I cannot understand why people would tell you to "stay away" from a SL1 Sig Mk3? In another thread 'sbank"/Spencer did quote you what Ken Stevens told him that a SL1 Sig Mk3 was the best value if you did not have ...
Revisiting the Kimber KCAG
Hi Zaikesman,Good to "see" you back on Audiogon. If I recollect correctly you seem to have disappeared from this site for quite a while. Maybe just reading the posts but not writing any?Anyway, you are one of the very few users who has said anythi...
CAT SL-1 MK III vs. First Sound Presence DeLuxe
Frank, this topic has come up several times now & member "Rayhall" has written extensively about it. Search the archives here @ Audiogon under his moniker 'rayhall' under Amps/Preamps.Here are some links that I found for you:http://forum.audiog...
Rowland "house sound"?
02-24-06: UnsoundSince Jeff's "move" to switching amps I wonder if the "house" sounds different?IMHO, it's a POS sound now! I did not care for the 201 - all the audiophile attributes but no soul. One friend disliked it as well (he was driving Pieg...
KT100 is better than KT88?
David_w,very nice post! Thank you for sharing your experience.
merlin tsm/primaluna?
should work well, if I had to guess. The Primaluna does not have a high damping factor. The TSM is a high(er) damped cabinet (I think), which should allow the speaker to take care of itself & so the combination should sound good. I'm quite sur...
What to use for Merlin TSM stand mounting
another suggestion re. filling the stands: I used kitty litter. It is granulated clay & it is mich bigger in size that a sand granule so it has the tendency to stay inside the hollow tubes of the stand rather than leaking onto your carpet or f...
What to use for Merlin TSM stand mounting
3rd the use of blu-tak under the speakers to attach them to the stands. I'm using this for my Tannoy DMT10 speakers. In fact, the Tannoy user's manual expressly says to do this - says that's the best method w/o altering the sound.
Ring radiator tweeters - the future?
Yo Lush,Maybe you need to have your hearing checked? Perhaps you like "tizzy" sound & call it laid back? Is that also possible? Just because someone doesn't agree w/ your analysis of the Polk speaker sound, doesn't mean he/she needs a hearing ...
