I just purchased a pair of Rapture i/c's and s/c's and yes they are really good out of the box. With only a few hours in my system Steve has indicated that it will improve for the next few days and then settle in. These were cooked before they lef...
Sony Playstation 1 for a CD player ???
I have been using the Playstation 1 periodically in my system with fine results. However, when I put my Modwright 9100 back in the system the magic returns. PS1 is very good & for the money & it is a no brainer. If you don't want to spend ...

Doug,Are you going to be able to compare the CD-2 against the CD-3 soon? I am looking to purchase a new CDP soon and enquiring minds want to know.
Are There Any Good, High Power Solid State Amps?
TRL 225 mono blocks. 300 watts per channel and they sound wonderful.
Circuit City is Closing, Liquidating
I have also had very poor experiences at CC but the one that blows my mind happened a few weeks ago at a hi end salon. I had recently sold a pair of speakers and had the budget to spend up to $20,000 on a pair of floorstanders. I told the salesman...
Speaker for low volume listening with high WAF
If you like the Wilson sound the above mention of Duettes might work. I have heard the Harbeths 7ES3 with your new amp and it was a great match. Also the Merlin TMS and Focal Be 1007 would be great choices in a smaller room. I have moved from a la...
Harbeth
I have owned both Merlin & Harbeth(5shl)and Casouza is quite accurate on his comparison of the two speakers. Both are outstanding but I liked the musical flow of the Harbeths better. Can't lose with either.
High End Monitors
Harbeths SLH5's. I owned these for about 2 years and enjoyed every minute with them. They will fit your price range new. Easy to drive. Very musical. Great on acoustic and classical. If you haven't heard the Harbeth line you owe it to listen befor...

Review: Tyler Acoustics Linbrook Signature Speaker
I owned this speaker a few years ago and it is a great sounding speaker. Ty makes a great product and buying direct saves all buyers. I could has kept these speakers and been very happy. But you know how that goes.
Anyone using the Transistor Research LabsM 225's
Tvad,Your answer is fair. There is no doubt that the most important aspect with any amp is how it interfaces with your speaker. If you call TRL and are able to arrange a trail with return privileges I will accept your findings. If I am not mistake...

Yes I own these amps. Tvad is correct, my search is over and now I just enjoy music. No more concerns about what the next great amp might be. I am listening right now to Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" and enjoying every minute. Given TRL a call and te...
Review: Tube Research Labs M-225 mono blocks Amplifier
The most important part of our hobby is to enjoy listening to music. Only your ears can tell you what sounds good. I have been guilty like some on this site for always looking for that next upgrade. If you enjoy your current set up then just enjoy...
Review: Tube Research Labs M-225 mono blocks Amplifier
The TRL's produce the most natural articulate bass I have ever heard. There are no exaggerated frequencies just natural flowing music. These amps also lowers the noise floor so details on some CD's come thur quite clear where my past amps were eit...
