I'm so confused.... Hi DCYou ask if HDCD is anything to care about? Emphaticaly yes!I am a huge fan of HDCD.HDCD is seriously far better than 16-bit redbook; the 20-bit Pacific Microsonics DAC's (Pac.Mic. is now bought out by microsoft) are considerably sonically sup...
How much does rock-solid speed stability cost? I wonder if the VPI SDS or the more expensive Walker Motor Controller would help the situation? VPI also had the original PLC motor controller, but it's been said to radiate spurious noise into some rigs; might be worth trying on a budget however.
Dedicated lines/surge protectors? Hi Wdi:MOV's are available from Radio Shack. Mouser Electronics, Digikey also likely. I buy mine in that specific model from industrial suppliers such as Newark Elecronics or Allied Electroncis.

Power supply variations- so the 2 amp supply will easily substitute for the 800mA supply. Just ensure the connectors (& polarity if DC) are compatible. If not, the connector can be fairly easily changed to what you acutally need.

Hubbell HG, Surge Protected & IG, Anyone use this? done correctly: surge protection is NOT a one-step process, it's multi-staged & distributed. Power company has two protectors on the service pole: an open-arc grounding point & a high voltage MOV. Inside I use whole-house gas-tube discharg...
In wall power cabling- for Apartment Dweller simply use #10awg solid copper THHN conductors - inexpensive, so no problem leaving it behind. Cable designer Mike VansEvers advised that it's good enough for him & it's certainly doing me a fine job too. One single circuit runs the whole work... |
