Antenna questions
that $22 RadioShaft antenna is working pretty well for me in my attic @60 miles out. It's probably only ~25' off the ground. I have one balun up top to convert the 300 ohm to 75 ohm RG-6 coax which the tuner accepts dirctly. I'm too afraid to moun...

Circuit breakers and dirty power
just don't use a GFI breaker electrically they're very noisy. The quietest mains connection can be had by using a subpanel with an Edison fuse, vs. a circuit breaker. The switching transients from the water heater may possibly be adequately isolate...

halogen lighting?
one alternative would be to use the low voltage lighting system but convert it to pure DC. Some home-brew technical expertise would be essential to accomplish this.
Here's why amps can be more important than speaker
you mean to tell me that some here are still using spec's, which too often anymore have little to do with sound quality, in order to qualify means to an end? Ludicrous!
Found an interesting way to compare IC cables...
it's only a vaild test in YOUR rigtake those cables elsewhere & all bets are off

Synergistic Research Luminescence Phase II
I'd experiment a bit with some other AC cords first. If you prefer the Synergistic line, they offer 4 other cords above the Master Coupler level.
