biggest difference...speaker cable or IC's?
for horns: a networked-type speaker cable has worked out very well for me: MIT paired with classic Belle Klipsch. Regarding conversion to biwire: although my MH750 Magnum's are biwire, I wouldn't necessarily expect a significant improvement in goi...

Unintended lyrics
That old moldy Louie Louie song (I've long forgotten the artist) had to be one of the most controversial 45's ever spun at a high school sock-hop. You can barely understand the lyrics, but that never stopped those fr!(k!^ bible-beaters from imagin...
how did this happen?
There were likely no problems within your equipment, until after that static-discharge zap. That huge DC transient could certainly fry voicecoils! Probably just the woofers are damaged, but there may be other issues (that buzzing sound coming from...
Replace Coax Cable or not?
Perform an easy comparison experiment. Fabricate a equal-length 2.2G cable: the same length as one of your original 1G runs. Then temporary connect it; just run it across the floor or through a window, whatever. Switch the cables back & forth ...

Greetings JD: it's great to hear from you here as well - a warm welcome home to you sir!I'll never forget your old 'The Winters' Lessons' post; a reference quality archive indeedy.
Do materials alter frequencies and speed?
My perception of the impedance issues which have been brought up seems at least partially corollary...Source components have unique reactive impedance characteristics comprised of a resistive component, an inductive component, a capacitive compone...

How to burn in new WBTs on a phono stage?
Hi Slava: use Albert's cliplead method, but build in your own voltage divider network to prevent overdriving the phono stage inputs.Divide the typical (tuner or CDP) ~1 volt line-output level down to ~100mV via a 10:1 ladder resistor divider. Use ...
