Innuos firmware update @pcrhkr - That’s awesome you’ve had that experience with your Innuos streamer. I had a similar epiphany when finally upgraded my firmware to a recently released version. I hadn’t updated firmware since I purchased the streamer three years ago. T...
QLN Prestige 3 @bolivarjoy - I’ve had the QLN Prestige 3 speakers for a couple of years now. I drive them with a Conrad Johnson classic 120 tube, Linear Tube Audio preamp, and Merason Dac1. I also have Dynaudio Heritage Specials which I drive with a Gryphon Diab...
Looking at these specific preamps give me your opinions @brbrock - +1 on the LTA Microzotl preamp with the level two upgrade offered by LTA. Fantastic preamp!
what amplification are you running with your Dynaudio Heritage Specials? @drubin - That’s a great question. In my experience, I never could get the HS to really sing at lower volume with any of those other amps. I once tried them with the Luxman 509 amp, which matches the power of the Gryphon, but felt the combination ...
what amplification are you running with your Dynaudio Heritage Specials? Old thread but recently purchased a used demo Gryphon Diablo 120 integrated. I’ve had a pair of Dynaudio Heritage speakers for a few years and have tried pairing them with Luxman, Pass, Rogue, Audio Hungary and Conrad Johnson amps. Without que...
Innuos Statement vs Zenith Mk3 + PhoenixUSB @russ751 - Would love to know what your thoughts were after testing the Innuos Zenith mkiii with the Innuos USB. How did that experience go?
Gryphon Diablo 120 Let me know when you finally get a pair in your house. I’d be interested to hear what you think.
Gryphon Diablo 120 I started investing in my audio system during COVID. In retrospect, I would have done even more research, but I’m happy where I’ve ended up. I’ve researched the coda amps and have been intrigued. From what I’ve read, it seems the coda 8 would be a...
Gryphon Diablo 120? @chasda - Did you end up purchasing the Gryphon Diablo 120? I just bought a used one and have been running it the past few days. Would be interested in your impressions if you went down that road.
Gryphon Diablo 120 @Grisleybutter - I’ll work on it this weekend. Not sure why, but the virtual system feature hasn’t worked when I tried uploading in the past. I’ll try to get it up by end of day tomorrow! @zlone - Before purchasing the QLN speakers, I demoed mul...
Gryphon Diablo 120 @swede58 - Agreed. They truly are! Impressions after one day. The Pursuit of Perfect Systems review (I’ll find and link it here) is pretty spot on. There is a subdued, almost dark, treble which takes a little bit of getting used to. I think I ...
Gryphon Diablo 120 @zlone - I couldn’t afford them new, so picked up a used pair from an audio studio engineer in NY. They rarely come up for sale used, unfortunately. If you can find a used pair, I recommend jumping on them. They’re just fantastic speakers.
Gryphon Diablo 120 @glennewdick - I actually recently replaced EL34 tubes in my Conrad Johnson Classic 120. I plan on keeping that amp. I think the relaxed nature of the amp, based on the other components I'm using, probably has something to do with my perceptions. ...
Power filtering – Furutech or Puritan Audio? I’ve purchased and kept the Puritan 136 and 156. Both were significant system upgrades. I wonder if some folks who denigrate the use of power filters actually have any first hand experience with these sorts of products.
PREAMPLIFIER UPGRADE QUESTION @kjl1065 - I recommend the Linear Tube Audio Microzotl preamp with the upgrade. It’s below your budget and sounds so good it’s the one component I wouldn’t consider parting with. When I put it in it was the single biggest upgrade I’ve made. |
