Need troubleshooting help go easy on me... Newbie
There are several versions of the 834P. The basic is for MM only, the others work with MM and lower output MC cartridges. Check to make sure you have the correct match for your cartridge. A volume control is available on two of the 834P versions a...

Bookshelf Speakers For 350 Or Less?? new & used
I would look for (used) Triangle Titus xs or Dynaudio 40. Or get her to pony up a little more cash for pretty little Silverline SR 12s. She might develope an affection for one of these nice sounding AND attractive speakers, sparking a new love aff...
Speaker Stand Recommendation
Tyler Acoustics has several nice stands and you can order them to your specs. The Ref. Monitors are About 9"X10.5" so the standard top plate should be perfect.
Would You Pay to Listen?
A weekend (or week) at a cabin in the mountains away from it all with a wonderful listening room? Yes.
Speaker positioning?
If you use the short wall, find the area on the side walls where the sound is reflected from. This is the spot on the wall that you would be able to see the speaker on that side in a mirror from your listening position. Place a large plant or some...
Odyssey Amp Overkill ?
If you get the Stratos spring for the power supply upgrade (why isnt it standard by now?) as it should make a difference with most speakers and will help if you sell it some day. Its not "too much amp", it will sound better than a cheaper amp with...
what speakers do the best "disappearing act"??
Some speakers are designed with a more focused dispersion like Dunlavys and with thier angled baffles the NHT. These speakers are designed to address room reflections but are more of a "sweetspot" speaker.
what speakers do the best "disappearing act"??
Many quality small monitors will do that "out of box" thing, Totems come to mind. I have heard very cheap Mission 771s do it. I think beyond driver and x-over design that baffle area and cabinet design have much to do with it. But on the other han...
Does crossover make a difference in efficiency?
Dont think you can get much more out of that woofer anyway.
My girlfriend is pissed
Its good to hold some back every so often. They do it all the time, but when you do it to them they are clueless. Listen for as long as you want, and if she is good break her off a piece.
How much power have you got under the hood?
NAD Quotes 450 wpc "dynamic power" into 2 0hm load for the C-370. Other more expensive amps may offer gains in different areas, but power will not be a problem. Dont think you can do better for the money.
How much power have you got under the hood?
The higher powered NAD will sound better. If you are buying new, I like Rotel too. You may do even better buying used.Nothing against NAD, my first amp was the original 3020, I loved it.
best integrated for jm Reynaud twins
Try the Sim Moon I-5 ($1200-1400 used) or maybe Creeks new 5350 ($1500 new) int. Both have a preamp out for hooking up the subwoofer you add later with the money you saved.
