WOW, check out these Stereo Systems.
dogpile.com gives results from at least a dozen search engines with just one entry. Its all I use. Sometimes if a site does not come up, try the same site from a different engine and it will. Dont know why.
Soundstage - Too much?
The soundstage should change with different recordings. If your system reproduces a huge soundstage when appropriate, but does not exaggerate intimate recordings it is a blessing not a problem. Does it sound natural, does it sound like music? That...
Who is Most Beautiful female singer ever
The ones that look the best seldom have the talent. Some look hot but artificial. Last month I caught part of a show on Austin City Limits with Shelby Lynne. Talented, sexy and real, she gets my vote. Last year my Lucinda Williams and Macy Gray bo...
Amplifier Specs
OK I know, I mean out there. Oops.
Amplifier Specs
How much damping factor you need depends on the speaker you intend to use. Some speakers are specifically designed for use with tube amps that generally deliver low damping. Coupled with an amp with high damping factor will produce an over damped ...
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
I have seen Bela with the Flecktone a couple times and they are great. Its amazing to watch Futureman play the drums with such "feel" on that machine {SynthAxeDrumitar}. "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" is a classic. Strenght in Numbers is a favorite ...
Sand bags under a cdp - didn't work well
Try innertube under and sand on top. Cheap solutions can work. Damping pads inside the top cover might help. Dont let anyone make you think you have to spend big bucks unless you want to.
Tip on room lighting
A friend has a large projection TV and he put a light behind it. Its not very bright but it distracts me and I always turn it off when he's not looking. The screen should be much brighter than its surroundings. It might just be me but I hate that ...
Best sounding CD of Brass?
I second the "For Duke" recommendation. Also if you have any live recordings give them a listen, you might find a "diamond in the rough" so to speak. Remember horns can be sweet and smooth but they can also be quite rude at times.
A competitor for the ProAc SC-1 Monitors
Have you listened to Totem Ones? If your system is not on the bright side and your amp can deliver some current they can sound excellent. I have read they are more dynamic than the SC-1 but I cant say from experience. I have seen them for about $8...
Hottest Wife or World's Best System??
How about a Hot Wife that likes Great Music and Hot Women? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
John Lennon
Must a musical icon be beyond fault? World changing music, messages of love and tolerance, tempered by personal failings {Hey Jude where's your dad?}. Musical genius and culture changing icon? Certainly. Great man? Can't say. I loved the Beatles e...
Impress Your Friends and Seduce Women!
Most people hear the difference, those that dont never will. Play music you love. Hearing classical, jazz, or bluegrass on a really good system can open up a whole new world of music for someone who has never heard them live. As for output level, ...
Classe integrated or Musical Fidelity?
Cosider the Primare 30.1 from Sweeden. It seems to be a big hit in Great Britain, could be a real sleeper. Someones got new units listed cheap. Or buy the Sim preamp listed for $800 and look for an $800 power amp. Just some options I thought were ...
