My birth year. Earliest audiophile memory is our C28 and 2125 meters connected to a pair of ADS 910’s still in the family. Great vinyl collection and a MR74 tuner that would pull in WPLJ, Z100 and all the stations that could rock the house. My old...

Hope he’s not still looking.
Intimate, warm and holographic alternative
Did you mention what you have for a system and what you are most familiar with?

I can throw the O/93 over my shoulder and run them up and down the impedance curve all day.  The CW4 less detailed spec sheet says 8 Ohm compatible. Do they need 20 wpc to get that woofer to dance?
sensitivity question
My favorite amp is 1 watt. Should I look at the thickness of the wood to find the best speaker. How about the shape of the feet? I wish I knew a common way to measure them?

@dbarger  thanks for the info! OMG these are the size of a dishwasher right?? Can you compare them to the O/93 with room loading? The O/93 have the ability to slam dynamically and with 30hz bass that can flap your pant legs. Do these seem to dig a...
Looking for recommendations for a pair of full range speakers for ~8k or under
Take a moment to define full range because it's really dependent upon the music you listen to. One of the things I find it challenging is to find a speaker in your price range to breaks 30hz without a sub, that doesn't have some other characterist...
Speakers The single most critical component
I agree to a large degree with the comments about the room. In my experience I had a $20,000 speaker in a properly sized well treater room I moved the system to another location in the same space but lost the point of boundary reinforcement for th...

The thread is about to get hit with the ugly stick. I appreciate the comments about culture and meditation SET and how room size and wall thickness influence listening level. I just still find it puzzling that most of us can easily rattle off a do...

The low listening level comment is great. I hadn't thought about the need for larger speakers for lower listening levels. I'm curious if there are local companies that make high efficiency smaller speakers that would be  competitive with Cube or D...

I’ve never understood why people that love a product get accosted. I do understand that some may be influenced by another’s love of a component. Maybe they buy it based on someone’s reaction and not like it, but that’s a risk audiophiles sometimes...

Can anyone tell me about VERITY AUDIO PARSIFAL
The tuxedo comment is more that they are precise and do imaging and coherency in a very complete and refined way. They are dynamic especially if you have some power behind them, as you do. The guys at Verity should get back with the exact spec of ...
