Can I ever stand to listen to our system again
I believe your wife would want for you to honor her memory by enjoyment of the music you shared. Perhaps not in the near future but at some point in time. My sincere condolences for your loss.Best,Paul
Anyone get to hear the new Selah 3D RMAF?
I haven't heard the 3D however I have heard a pair of Rick's line arrays in my home and at the price point they were unbeatable. Most likely the 3D's are the same. Rick is on of the good guys of audio for sure.Best,Paul :-)
Infinity Kappa 8's
Sorry but a Krell, Levinsen and Classe at the power required is just outside of my budget. There are a few Classe 200/201's listed around the $1200 range. IMHO that's reasonably short $$$ to get the job done right. The Yammie is a good amp, however...
Mark Levinson 38S vs 380
The new Levinson line is quite good. I havent had the 320 or 326 home so I cannot comment on better. The 38S and 380 I have no experience with, so not much help to you there, sorry.Best,Paul :-)
Planar to dynamic, dynamic to planar, or ...
I ended up with a second system with Infinity RS1b's to listen to when I missed planar sound. Certain music sounds better with planars and some with cones. The Pipedreams are still the big kahuna here though. My girl is not too happy with me but it...
Mark Levinson 38S vs 380
Your GFP-750 is good in passive mode. A bit harsh actively.I had one in a second system. I picked up a 380S to replace it. No comparison. Why not save up for a while and just get a 380S. There's a reason these always sell quickly here. Get what yo...
Infinity Kappa 8's
Having owned Infinity since the early 70's, and Kappa 9's were here for a while I can tell you what you need to do.You won't like it but you need to step up to an amp capable of handling a 2 ohm load, one with high current capability. Me, I like l...
Pipedreams vs. Soundlabs
Addendum:I have heard the Soundlabs A-1 driven by McIntosh tube preamp and 1201 monoblocks. This is the only Soundlabs speaker I have heard a lot. Low-level detail and imaging are superb, however I found them unable to play at levels I like to enj...

Pipedreams vs. Soundlabs
LOL, for a speaker that's "pretty bad", it is the best thing I've had in my room in over 30 years in the hobby.Best,Paul :-)
Best Amp for my Pipedreams and ML 32
I have Pipedreams Reference 18's.I'm using a Levinson 32 with a pair of Levinson 33's on the woofers and 33H on the mid/tweeters. Very good combo.I would think that you could continue with your Krell on the woofers without a problem.Best,Paul :-)
Upgrade Von Schweikert VR-4 to Dunlavy SC-IV?
I had both 10t and 20t. Put Aerial on your shortlist.Pipedreams here now, however the Aerials kept my foot tappin' for quite a while. I would have kept the 20t's however the bedroom the second system is in is too small to realize their full potent...
New Aerail 10T's
LOL Jim!I felt the same way when I bought my 10t's some years ago.Rest assured the speaker will show you any improvement you make.....it'll also show what's bad too.IMHO the 10t is still very much a contender today....and tomorrow. They are a spea...
Little red gun next to turntable.
My Zerostat is over 20 years old now. Still works great!.Back then they cost about $15 :-)Best,Paul :-)
Amplifier Weight. A Factor?
LOL! I have both 33's and 33H. The 33H are easier to move however the 33's have casters built into the bases which makes rolling them a breeze. After 35+ years involved in this hobby/sickness/addiction, I have found that I am most musically satisfi...
