Feedback through turntable Sand is good for adding mass, in place of lead. Put it in little "snack" sized ziplock sandwich bags wherever needed. The only spring isolators I've found that offer height adjustment are the Townshend Audio Seismic Pods, but they ain't cheap, $15...
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? I didn't expect the extra space behind the panel to turn it into a bass trap! Just to lower its effective absorptive range a little. In the specs chart, it looks as if the Rockboard 60 may be a little better at higher frequencies than the 80, thou...
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? auxinput, I took another look at the ATS site. They sell a nice frame kit for cheap, and both Rockboard 60 and 80. I'm leaving for tonights gig a little early 'cause there's a Home Depot right by the joint, so I'm going in to check out the Safe 'n...
Ayone know the wattage used at a Rock concert? And Charlie isn't a "pounder". Now Keith Moon, he really hit those drumheads! The only other guy I saw/heard who played that hard was Buddy Miles---he was a very big and strong guy.
New Ikea storage unit great for LP's! No, I'm picking mine up on Monday. As the interior compartments are essentially 13" cubes (height, width, and depth), it's perfect for LP's. And it has a rear panel! It also displays much less swaying left-to-right than the backless Ikea shelving ...
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? Nah, I’ll make one frame sized to fit three pieces of the Roxul in, 45-3/4" x 48" interior. There is 56" between the two doors that flank the listening position, on the wall opposite the speakers. I might put a Roxul strip on each of those doors t...
Why are the Infinity IRS, Reference 1b, Beta ect speakers passive on the mids and highs? The first Watt B4 x/o offers 1st/2nd/3rd/4th order (6/12/18/24 dB/octave) filters in 25Hz increments from 25Hz to 6275Hz. It is about to be discontinued, so if you want it better grab one while you can!
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? Thanks everyone. Home depot sells and stocks the Roxul 3" Safe 'n' Sound in a 12-pack of 15-1/4" x 48" panels for $46.27. Such a deal! Lowes sells them in the 24" width, but with a three package minimum. WAY more than I need. Here's another questio...
Your last concert was to see who and when? Ricky and his band are great live. I saw him and them, along with Rhonda Vincent (fantastic!) and Junior Brown, a few years ago. Quite a bill!
What to do with old LP inner sleeve? Decorate the walls of your listening room with the sleeves! Musical art.
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? I’ve heard good things about Mississippi Studios, but haven’t yet been there. Portland has some great small theaters, and lots of pubs. They pay much better than the clubs and bars in L.A., I’ll tell ya that!
Why are the Infinity IRS, Reference 1b, Beta ect speakers passive on the mids and highs? partroysound: If your m/t panel wings move relative to the wings base as much as mine did, I would definitely attach a length of hardwood (or metal rod, like the Quad 2805 and 2905) to the backside of the m/t panel wing near its top, the other end...
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? I’ve been playing with Harvest Gold since September. Songs by Neil Young (of course), Stephen Stills, Gregg Allman, Steve Earle, Hunter/Garcia, Dylan, Guy Clark, Arlo Guthrie, etc. And a few originals, for the right audience. The manager is workin...
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? You're right auxinput, a pair of ATS 24 x 48 x 2 panels cost only $37 to ship to me, much better. They even make them 4" deep, which I may go for.
Owens Corning 703 vs. Roxul Safe 'n' Sound? Thanks again Brad, and howdy neighbor (sort of)! I’m pretty regular at Music Millennium, but hearing of Jack Pot and Artichoke is great news. I haven’t done much exploring in Portland yet, gotta get into it. I lived in Portland in ’77-8, and all t... |
