Any experienced Projector users? I'm hardly an expert, but I have my projector ceiling mounted, and it's a budget model. I previously tried a cheapo epson LCD before I found I had to spend more and got a Optoma HD70. I really like the Optoma - it's totally silent, the picture is ...
whistling in the ears there's been lots of discussion on this previously. Check the Tinnitus Thread Perhaps you'll take comfort in the fact you have plenty of company . Also Google will tell you plenty - but as indicated above, it's not likely to go away. I have had i...
How to add links or shrink a quote in your post? a link to the "how to" directions that Tvad inserted are always shown immediately below the "your response" window. If you forget - just click on the link.
To tube, or not to tube, that is the question djh, if you're serious about a tube amp and can find the $ for the TAD, or a similar amp with volume control w/i your budget, here's an option: Use your Pioneer as a switch for your CD, Tuner, Phono. Connect the power amp to the Tape output of the...
To tube, or not to tube, that is the question First - no need to defend choosing the Sttafs. They're fantastic. I had Sttafs for ~ 2 years, and when upgraded to Mani-2s I still hated to part with the Staffs. Only after watching them collect dust did I sell them. Choosing speakers first then p...
Analog vs. digital segment on PBS Interresting but the test was between masters in a studio, not between the end products of CD and LP, which is what the average and above average listener would be using respectively. :D I too found this disappointing . . .
Enough Juice I'm not familiar enough with the speakers or the amp to say for sure, but I suspect it will work ok. You'll be much happier with more "juice" though. You'll probably get plenty of volume, but may have some clipping if you're driving them hard (ie ...
Ultimate Audio Upgrade ok, we can already see where this is heading. I have limited experience with cello music, though it's one of my favorite instruments. I like Jordi Savall "Les Voix Humaines", and of course Yo Yo Ma.I also picked up an instrument this year - I boug...
Suggestions for stretching turntable belts? I had similar experience as Pbb - and Tim and Turntable Basics was fantastic. I had an unusual situation - and he ended up sending me multiple belts - he said "send back the ones that you don't need". This is for a $12 belt! I wish I had that leve...
Stylus break in I wouldn't, for the reasons above. I'd just wait and play music after it's all set up. It will sound fine even through the break in period - may as well get some listening enjoyment from the break in cycles too.
christmas music here's last year's Christmas music thread. It may provide some reminders including some of my fav's in no particular order:Trans Siberian OrchestraVanessa WilliamsGRP Christmas CollectionEmmylou Harris.
Two-Year-Olds and Turntables... I sounds like you already have plenty of good advice, but I'll weigh in anyway. I subscribe first to Albert Porter's approach. In my case, my audio was in a room that was off limits, and my kids surprisingly behaved. On the other hand, I'm a little...
What cartridges are good fits for the Bellari 129 I don't have a cart recommendation, but I'm not sure I'd choose the Bellari as a means to try tubes. It doesn't behave any differently than a ss phono IMHO, is a little temperamental (noise/grounding issues) and I think overpriced frankly. I had o...
Non classical piano based music recommendaiton I agree with Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett rec's - they'd be at the top of my list (though Jarret's grunting sometimes gets on my nerves). I like Keith Jarrett - "Standards" (there's no grunting :-) ).Others that I have and like are:Chick Corea - n... |
