How do I connect two preamps at the same time?
connecting in the way Emailists describes accomplishes exactly what you're seeking. Try it.I definitely wouldn't attempt the split interconnect approach you describe.
Vinyl Catalog
I like it! thanks
Rega Remote codes?
I have used a universal remote with my Rega Hal preamp. I don't recall where I found the code set but it was probably in the manual. The Hal uses Rega's Solar remote which I think works on all of Rega's gear, so probably the same code set all arou...
GIRL NEWBIE
Welcome to the hobby . . . I think there's plenty of good advice above, and even though much of it will lead you to believe your budget won't be enough (ie, "save your money" comments, and equip suggestions clearly higher than your budget). I thin...
A simple request---Please pack audio gear well.
Bubble wrap is great for light components, but alone isn't enough for heavy amps or speakers. Their corners will cut right through it and be destroyed the first time the package is drop-kicked. I've been the recipient of amps poorly packed in bubb...
Speaker brands with rotting foams?
this isn't a brand issue, many/most brands have speakers that use foam surround drivers. It's a design choice.

Tvad, approx how much is the upcharge? (ie as a % of bill)
VPI vacuum too much??
Does the whole platter/motor stop turning, or does the record stay stationary while the platter beneath continues to turn? Mine does the latter unless the clamp nut is tightened very securely. Check to may sure your clamp is tight whenever this ha...
Replacing speaker grill cloth questions????
I've done this a few times . . . 240zracer's method is the best.
Use of RCA Y Splitters?
I've used Y splitters in the past and haven't noticed adverse performance; although I didn't perform any kind of an a/b test to scrutinize it. In my current home theater I'm running vertical biamping using Eagle 4 amps that have a jumper soldered ...
How can I transfer my records to cd? Best quality
I tried doing this some time ago, and quickly realized that with the investment of time/effort and SW you're better off buying a CD for each vinyl album you have. It's very hard to separate tracks automatically, so unless you want each LP side to ...
FP screen , +$$$ = better pic - fact or fiction?
Northwoods . . . indeed I did miss the comma. Sorry about that, I need to take more care in reading. I have no personal experience with screens anywhere near $1200, and I suspect my standards are a bit more lax than many, since I'm still satisfie...
What made you select "audio" as your hobby
Nature, or nurture? Frankly I'm not sure.My dad owned a TV/Audio shop - sales, install, repair. I went to the shop with him on Saturdays at a very early age (4-5). He'd work, and set me down with a screw driver, pliers, and something harmless like...
FP screen , +$$$ = better pic - fact or fiction?
$1000 for a paint on screen? I honestly didn't think it possible to do that.I built my own screen using screen fabric I purchased on ebay for ~$30. The lumber from home depot cost ~$15. I've been using it for 3 years now and have not been inclined...
surround processor with a decent phono stage?
I would choose the best pre/pro ignoring whether it has a phono section. If the one you buy happens to have a phono section try it in your own room/rig. If you're satisfied, great, but expect to buy an outboard phono pre or use your RQ for it.The ...
