Next MC Cartridge Advice/Recommendations
@jbhiller  i have a lyra delos and it is so much better than other cartridges in its price class including ortofon cadenza and soundsmith mimc.  huge dynamics and great timing, huge soundstage, very refined and detailed, smooth tonal balance once...

SS Preamp with Tube Amps? Don't se it often. Why?
Another reason is that there are limited (any?) manufacturers that make both a solid state preamp and tube based power amp.   Not everyone has an integrated set by the same manufacturer but many do.  Not having a SS pre with tube amp from the sam...
Graham LS5/9 differences about screws?..
are they missing from both speakers?   if not, you can remove one from the other speakers and measure it to buy one from a screw supplier.   if i were buying these speakers i would make them a low ball offer on price.
When choosing new Speakers, what matters most to you?
i just look at the measurements.  all i need to know.  if they arent published no buy.
Comparing Speaker Cables

at the end of the day all a subwoofer does is provide sub bass and some tapering bass and midbass frequencies.  they are not some kind of magical atsmopheric enhancement machine.  the frequencies you hear are those generated in a large concert h...
Rogue audio RP-7 versus PS Audio BHK preamplifier
The RP 7 will sound very good with the stock tubes (which are also the stock tubes supplied in new McIntosh hardware.   They take quite a while to smooth out though, some say 500 to 700 hrs. The RP 7, RP 5 do require a good matching amplifier.  ...
Best Phono You've Heard Under $2200
The LPS was an add on for me, i had the 20 20 for a year or so before it became available.   It added noticeable improvement in dynamics and energy and seemed to be slightly cleaner sounding.  It did not seem to affect the tonal balance.   To fi...
