@lalitk I’m sure Mikey @mikepowellaudio has a legitimate excuse for this unusual delay 6 months? Let’s hear that excuse. He’ll probably get to this warranty work as soon as he’s done making YouTube videos.
Best budget turntable?
Rega makes good sounding tables but with Rega you run into lack of flexibility with adjustments. You’re going to need to be carefully matching a cartridge to arm for VTA or potentially use spacers. In either case it’s a pain and you’re loosing tha...
Should I upgrade the cable of my Line Conditioner?
@xcool  I found in my system power cords used on power conditioner make a difference. What difference are you looking to make, what exactly are you trying to improve? Type of power cord and type of design, conductors and connectors all matter.  ...
Dunlavy SC IV Speaker- Any Good???
I went to hear these locally over 20 years ago when I was out on a speaker search.  They were properly set up in a nice size room and driven by either plinius, Levinson or Krell…one of those I can’t remember exactly. I do remember though that I wa...
Chord Qutest
Qutest is a very nice dac. I had no issues with it and it sounded great.
Unexpected issues with Rega planar TT, a respectful manufacturer product?
Hey that’s awesome! as far as cartridges…I used Goldring E3 and it was a notable improvement over the stock Carbon. You might as well upgrade. What’s the point of AT cartridge that’s supposedly the same as carbon?
Question about Class A
I’m using Pass Labs XA30.8 with Martin Logan Montis. Preamp is Pass XP-12.  Incredible sound and never runs out of headroom no matter how hard I push it.  Purity, dynamics and details in spades.  I wouldn’t hesitate going with Pass Labs amplifiers.
How important is it that all cables come from the same manufacturer?
You can mix brands or different lines within the sane brand. Tweak the sound to your liking. if you find a cable that made a jaw dropping difference you can try full loom of that brand/line. But…it doesn’t always work. Could become too much of a g...
The Cable Co
Been dealing with John over at The Cable Co. for over 15 years and can’t complain. Always a positive experience!
Unexpected issues with Rega planar TT, a respectful manufacturer product?
So now you know it’s not the cartridge. It was worth checking. You should contact Rega for an authorized repair center that would be able to address both your issues…dead channel and the motor spinning in a wrong direction.  The P2 is a decent tab...
Unexpected issues with Rega planar TT, a respectful manufacturer product?
I still think it’s cartridge related. Second guess would be a bad tonearm wire. One other check you can do is try to flip the channels by swapping leads and connecting the cartridge left ch to right and right ch to left. See what happens. If the p...
Unexpected issues with Rega planar TT, a respectful manufacturer product?
@niodari  I doubt it’s the cable. Did you actually physically check leads on cartridge or just visually inspected it? I had this happen to me with P2. Make sure the leads are on tightly. Take a tweezer or thin needle nose pliers and check every o...
Rogue RP-1 or Schiit Freya
Rogue gets my vote for synergy, sound and build quality. I owned RP-1 paired with ST-100.  Upgrade the stock JJs to Gold Lions or Brimars and it’s hard to beat. As an added bonus the RP-1 has a very nice built in phono stage that worked great with...
Unexpected issues with Rega planar TT, a respectful manufacturer product?
Wait…do the RCAs have any damage? Is the damage visible? Make sure you checked and confirmed that all the leads are all tightly connected to the cartridge. That’ll do it if one of them came off, you would lose a channel.  I had the P2 and it’s a ...
What phono cartridge is suited for metal and heavy rock?
System and room dependent (check out my system for more details). In my set up I like Hana EL. I’ve been spinning Slayer and Metallica last few days. No complaints. Plenty dynamic and detailed. The EH (High Output) should also work.
