Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @lewm I hope you right! That would be the best case scenario. Room is small. If you click on details under my user name you can see my setup.
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @lalitk we’ll see after I get 40-50hrs on the ML. I’m more inclined to give a Sutherland 20/20 with a higher gain setting available (64db) than having to add a sub. As far as ML sound quality, I can tell you and everyone looking into a cartridge u...
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @mulveling yup that’s what I’m thinking too. @lewm the XA-30.8 is 30w in Class A. It goes out of Class A and well beyond its rated 30w/ch. When that happens the meter starts moving indicating it’s exited Class A. I rarely see that take place. I s...
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? @prof and @mulveling worth checking. If we’re not taking mm differences in overhang then you can easily get distortion. Not familiar with mint protractor. I used Dr. Feichert New Generation that gives you more precise adjustments using the pivot t...
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @chayro I see. Ok.
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @chayro never heard TZ Vibe. I don’t find the KC Vibe MkII lean and steely sounding at all. The sound is very engaging.
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @rdk777 thanks! The bass is fine in my system with digital playback. My room is relatively small and the Sabrinas pressurize it well. Not a fan of subs in a 2ch system…
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @arize84 you’re confirming my suspicion.
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? Now back to @prof ’s problem. I’m suspecting overhang is the issue. We’ll wait until he responds if that was taken care of during set up.
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? @tylermunns 👍
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? @tylermunns My take on it would be to just stop using Onzo and give the stylus some good cleaning with a liquid stylus cleaner. Use magnifying glass or a USB microscope (if you have a digital camera with macro lens that can work too) to inspect th...
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? @tylermunns no problem. I stopped using the ZeroDust and instead use the brush included with the Hana cartridge. Every 5-6 records I clean the stylus with MoFi LP-9 liquid stylus cleaner.
Phono Stage Gain - how does it impact sound? @lewm I can’t find the input sensitivity for my Pass XP-12. It’s rated at 9.3db gain. I’m running the Sutherland single ended into the XP-12 and XLRs from XP-12 to Pass XA-30.8 amp. There’s no compatibility issues between the Pass components. S...
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? Also, I wouldn’t use Onzo ZeroDust. Read this article for more.
Ever Damage A Stylus Using Cleaning Brush? @prof based on what you’re describing, if you’re hearing distortion I would look into the usual suspects… 1. your records are either dirty or worn out 2. the cartridge overhang is off. Have you set the overhang properly? 3. check your anti-skat... |
