Lumin Ap on Lumin players - not so good?
Hope this helps.
This cable game is making my head spin
Do you have any isolation feet or vibration control devices under any of your components? Remove them and see if the sound changes. Some of these devices kill dynamics and make your system sound just like you described.   As for the cables, I wou...
Looking for a new (preowned OK) line stage under $5K: suggestions?
Why not go with one of Pass Labs preamps for some synergy with your XA25 amp? I’m driving my XA30.8 with XP-12 and it sounds fantastic. For warmer cables try Acoustic Zen Matrix Reference II. I tried Synergistic and I found them veiled, not warm.
Upgrading from Primaluna
To add…don’t worry too much about the storage box as I don’t think it will interfere or impact the presentation a lot (woofers aren’t as directional as mid or tweeter drivers). The speaker toe in will be important to achieve the best imaging. All...
Upgrading from Primaluna
Ok…exactly what I thought it would look like.  my recommendation was to pull the panels more into the room leaning them again the wall. Position them so the one on the left is leaning on the wall and the one on the right is standing on the storage...
Upgrading from Primaluna
@j-wall Very nice system! Changing the amps will change the sound, you can definitely try that! Audio Research Ref line is top notch stuff and the odds are there will be a good improvement sonically by switching to ARC Ref series components. But...
Lumin Tidal connect user
You may, depending on your TV, be able to just install Tidal app directly on it and feed its toslink or HDMI ARC to your receiver or DAC. Apple TV also allows Todal to be installed. As I understand based on this use case the sound quality is not o...
Is a separate phono pre really necessary?
I had the RP-5 and used its internal phono stage with Hana EL cartridge. I was not impressed. I switched to MoFi UltraPhono and it was slightly better but still not what I was looking for (exciting sound but kind of flat in the soundstage departme...
Pass Labs XA30.8 for Dynaudio C1 Platinum
I was worried when I bought the XA30.8 that it wouldn’t be enough but took the chance. I don’t regret it. I love the Pass sound and this amp delivers.    I will be trying it hopefully soon with a pair of dynamic speakers with similar specs as you...
Analogue pre amp recommendation
Rogue RP-1 is a good choice. It’s got a decent phono stage as well if you ever going to need OneDrive. You can pick up a used RP-1 for around $1000. Another choice would be a used Audio Research LS17. Look for other Audio Research options as well...
Pass Labs XA30.8 for Dynaudio C1 Platinum
Few things -  1. It’s not the quantity of the watts, it’s the quality. There’s no doubt about quality of power this amplifier delivers.  2. The XA30.8 will put out over 100w into 4ohms. But you will most likely hardly push it there in the medium...
Pass Labs XA30.8 for Dynaudio C1 Platinum
What is your room size? I own the XA30.8 and I’m pretty sure it would have no problems driving your Dynaudio C1 speakers in the small to medium size room. It has no issues driving the Martin Logan Montis where the panel impedance could drop unde...
Is my power chord going bad?
@blue_collar_audio_guy Good call!
Pass INT-25 better than Wilsenton R8?
Not only the Pass amp needs around 200hrs of break in, it also needs at least 1hr of warm up every time you turn it on to do some listening. Give it a chance. Don’t think about trying to hear a $5,000 improvement. Just enjoy the music and you’ll b...
Upgrade path question with $2k to spend
You received a sound advice to sell the yamaha and get an integrated like Hegel. You’re on the wrong path with the Marantz TT-15 (killer table/cartridge combo) that you will run it into that Yamaha / project DS bottleneck and will successfully off...
