Wall outlets @erik_squires I had a Leviton hospital grade outlet from HD. It stripped the plating off the AQ Tornado AC plug, plugging and unplugging that cord several times. I sold the cable (not because of stripped plating) and replaced the outlet with Furut...
Wall outlets @shtr74sims Furutech GTX-D Rhodium outlet is where it’s at. I installed one before I ran two dedicated lines and the improvement was immediate. It goes thru some insane break in until about 250-300 hours. It starts out sounding amazing then takes ...
Am I broken? Am I stuck? Do I have to return my audiophile card now? I own the original Sabrina and love the sound. However, every component upgrade, be it amp, preamp, DAC or cables, brought further improvements to the overall presentation. You can upgrade your DAC and possibly cables to start with. Yes, you won’t...
Base trap spacing @shtr74sims I’ll tell you why I think moving the outlet to behind the system is a better strategy - it allows you to retain your current power conditioner and the cord feeding it it gives you an opportunity to use a much better, high quality...
Help me choose an Audio Research preamp/line stage (Please?) I’ve owned LS-15, LS-16, LS-25 and Ref1. Based on your requirements, I’d go with Ref1, 2 and 3. Also LS-25 (original, not MkII) would fit the bill. The Ref series preamps sound big and dynamic. The LS-25 is a touch leaner sounding compare to Ref ...
Recommendation Request for Tube Power Amplifier @mazian +1 the Rogue ST100 should do the trick It is a clean and quiet for a tube amp but in triode mode it should give you more of that tube sound you seek.
Chord Qutest——>No difference @teh_chucksta 2v was the best setting in my system when I had the Qutest. I’d recommend to run and listen to the Qutest for at least 2-3 days with the DAC constantly on…do not unplug it. Once you get a hang of what it is doing, switch back to BS.
Reliable source for 6550WE tube - Audio Research Ref 6 Ended up ordering the EH 6550 from Upscale Audio. After 10 hours of “on” time, I like what I’m hearing so far and it’s an improvement over the stock Sovtek 6550. Now, that tube had about 2400 hrs on it and may be this is an improvement just becau...
Please recommend decoupling footers for DAC Most of the components will react to power cord and interconnect changes. Doubt that this DAC is any more unique in this regard. Looks like you just don’t like how it sounds. I’d give it a full 200hrs of signal thru it break in time if it’s new an...
Monster m 850 cable upgrades BlueJeans should do it.
Monster m 850 cable upgrades @pureclarity Audience Ohno is a good deal and us better than the old monsters. Also, as mentioned above, DH Labs, Cardas. Audioquest is good too. Even the BlueJeans cables beat these monsters. But honestly, going’s into a receiver I wouldn’t bot...
Monster m 850 cable upgrades Budget? And what components does the cable connect?
POWER AMPLIFIER FOR LOW TO MODERATE LISTENING It’s a combination of everything. Your MLs are warm speakers with powerful bass, thanks to the powered woofer. CJ amp is also on a sweeter side. Amps that come to mind are SimAudio moon 760a, may be Classe amps too. I’d recommend also to take a l...
Preamp for a Dan D'Agostino S250MxV Amp Both the ARC and the McIntosh will work.
Preamp for a Dan D'Agostino S250MxV Amp If you’re not getting the matching D’Agostino preamp and are considering tubes, then ARC Ref 6 or 6 SE should be on your list. Sonically superior to McIntosh C2700. VAC is also up there with ARC. |
