Cut lower frequency to help my bookshelf speakers
Aurgolo, Connect the outputs of the LS2 to the inputs of the minidsp. Connect one set of outputs of the minidsp to the Mark Levinsen and the other set to the subs. If you hear any signal degradation from the subs I will be both amazed and impresse...
At This Time Can We Recreate Full Range Live Music In The Home?
I believe that you can or at least get very very close, but you absolutely have to be able to tune your system to your room. If you just put a system in a room and expect to get a realistic live performance sound it will never happen unless the ac...
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)?
So what does anyone think of the idea of using a Loki as a very inexpensive experiment to see if more bass even suits me.The Loki may be a solution but it may also cause you problems. I am making an assumption here, and you may already know this, ...
How do you know if you need to add a sub (without auditioning one, I mean)?
Depends on what kind of music you listen to and how loud you play it. If you are listening to bass driven music like blues and rock a sub is almost essential, other genres, not so much. The biggest issue with subs is integrating them. Integration ...
Does length matter ?
Not exactly an apples to apples comparison here, bit I have seen some pro applications where the difference in length from left to right was as much as 75 feet and no one was ever able to tell any difference.
Subwoofer for Kef LS50 Wireless II?
What is your crossover point? If it's at 40Hz there are very few notes produced by conventional instruments lower than that. The low "E" on a bass is 41.203 Hz which is already above that threshold. A grand piano has a few notes that are lower but...
Subwoofer for Kef LS50 Wireless II?
What kind of problems are. you having? Is the sub boomy or muddy?Boomy would probably be do to the subs location in relation to the listening position, muddy would probably be do to improper crossover setup. I'm assuming you only have one sub.  Ha...
Wilson Audio Tunetot Loudspeakers Reviewed !
I bought a pair of Tune Tots about a year and half ago and I'm still enjoying them and I doubt I will ever replace them. I felt that the highs especially, were superior to the other speakers that I auditioned, which were B&W, Focal, Spendor an...
Narrowed it down to two Monitors, Dyn Heritage Special, or Wilson Tune Tot
When I started to put my system together a few years ago I ended up with the Tune Tots because I felt that their highs were better than the other bookshelf speakers that I was able to audition. The others that I listened to, were B & W 805D,  ...
Subwoofer Decisions - REL/Rythmik, Pair/Single, Paper/Aluminum Driver, etc.
In my system I am currently using a REL S5 SHO, a Rythmik F12SE and two SVS SB4000’s. My room is 10 x 14. When I first started using the REL, I used the speaker level input but have since changed to using the rca inputs. To me using the line level...
EQ / Dsp... Who’s using them?
DBX makes a pretty good product in both e.q.s and DSP units at pretty decent prices. The Klark-Teknik DN360 has been considered one of the best analog e.q.s for decades. I believe they are still in production but I don’t know for how much longer s...
Sub wiring help, high level speaker terminal to RCA line level Sub inputs
@nsm1979Hi Neil, the last time I checked, Rythmik did offer an amp option that contained a high level input. I would contact Rythmik with your questions.
Stereo RELs, two different sizes?
Unless you are overdriving the T/9i, and I highly doubt you are, it is highly unlikely you will hear any difference if you replaced it with a second S/510.
REL subs with Acoustat 1+1s?
What's nice about that arrangement is that the ESLs are left to do the elegant work while the sub handles the heavy stuff. It actually works quite well.Hi musicfan2349, that is why I mentioned the JL Audio "e" series earlier in the thread. The "e"...
Anyone Successfully Go from Floor Standers to Bookshelf Monitors w/ Subs?
The short answer is yes. The helpful answer is probably much more complex. If you want to use a monitor you will want to design the system so the subs do the heavy lifting. IOW the higher the crossover point the better.  Your concern about a 6.5” ...
