Innuos Zenith Mk3 or something else? "My dealer recommended the Zen as the "sweet spot" in the Innuos line and as sounding fuller and less edgy than the Lumin servers they also carried. "Would anyone else characterize the sound of Lumin servers as "edgy"? I have been seriously eyeing...
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl I purchased the KAB rumble filter. As soon as it comes in I will post my findings. Thanks all for the enlightening discussion.
What do you think is the best integrated amplifier under 1000 Not to yuck anyone's yum, but I checked out a Vincent SA31 preamp and found it to be decidedly "MidFi." If you haven't heard anything else, you may be inclined to think it sounds good. My Belles Aria ran circles around it. Of course the Belles is ...
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl Thanks @stereo5 I think that is the route I will go down. For my own understanding, is this a turntable feedback loop? The low frequencies being put out by the speaker are traveling along the floor, into the rack, picked up and amplified by the ca...
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl "Working" from home today so I moved the TT from within the dormer area on the Pangea shelf to outside of the dormer on a much more stable IKEA Kallax shelf. (see Audionoobie's system pics) Was pic 4, now is pic 3. Same problem....Seems like I'll ...

Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl @erik_squires Excellent post!! I suspected it was dangerous. The excursion or cone travel is pretty extreme and it seems to be as you said with no spring holding back the driver. And, yes, I have a springy wooden floor in a second floor bedroom an...
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl @williewonka how can I tell if the bearings have any play in them? Not sure what you're referring to.@artemus_5 I noticed this any time any record is playing. It is not genre specific. And like I said, there is no discernible audio issue. Just the...
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl @sbank No. None of that is happening. And this isn't the first time I've seen this. It happened with a completely different set of speakers and different cart, on the same table. I thought it was something particular to those other speakers.
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl @williewonka interesting thread before it went off topic. The KAB rumble filter was brought up. Here is an excerpt from their site which accurately describes what I am seeing: Getting into LP's and startled at the big speaker cone movements that ...
Why do my bass drivers shake violently listening to vinyl It sounds incredible! I'm just concerned that I may be doing damage to my speakers.
Best Speaker Choice for my very "non-audio-friendly" Living Room +4 for Ohm Acoustics. Go to to their site and pick the model that corresponds with the volume of your space. Ex. 14' x 30' x 8' (assuming 8 ft. ceiling height).Looks like that would put you at the Ohm Walsh Tall 3000 https://ohmspeaker.com/speaker...
Need speaker suggestions for my evolving system! Imaging and soundstage is really good on the entire Kef R series. I find they lack bass. A good sub or two is almost required.
Recommended streamers/servers? Watching this thread with great interest. I like @larry5729 have done away with the external DAC (Mytek Liberty) and am just usning the DAC inside the Node 2. Puts out great bass and I find that the digital "glare" is reduced. Now I'm considering ...
3way replacement for my 2way I agree with knottscott. I have since upgraded to Treo CT's but when I listen to my vandy 1's I cannot tell I am listening to a 2-way speaker. It just sounds coherent and full top to bottom. |
