Vandersteen 7 and room treatment
I just went through this with my Treo's. All of my room treatments were sucking the life out of my system and I could not obtain a strong and stable center image. Here's what Richard Vandersteen wrote me: Joe, it is very common for people to ove...
Ohm Walsh Talls (opinions sought)
Thanks for all responses on this thread. I think my next step is to take another trip to Brooklyn. It's been a few years since I last heard them and I've learned so much since.
Ohm Walsh Talls (opinions sought)
@mijostyn thank you for your input. I’m looking for a wide range of perspectives and yours is as valid as any. @2psyop thanks! I'll give that a watch tonight

Thanks @russ69  I'm 30 pages into that thread and it's still information that's over 10 years old. Was looking for some fresh perspectives. I'll jump to the end though.
Belles Aria integrated compared to the Signature
I've had the Aria integrated for about 4-5 years now. I have the Signature preamp on order which should be in any day now. It will be feeding a pair of Aria monoblocks with it. I'll let you know my impressions once I've had some time with it. I am...
Klipsch RP-600 M Vs My Vintage JBLs
They are not the last word on tonal accuracy, but they are a fun speaker to listen to. I’m happy I got my pair for $350 and I put them in rotation occasionally. I found the treble to be pretty bright and beamy at first, but they have settled in ni...
The new Rogue pharaoh II slams
A local dealer has a show room. There are always a bunch of guys hanging out  on Saturdays listening to different products that come in to the shop. They usually play everything through a Pharaoh. Always been impressed by its SQ and the wide range...
Best cheap $200 ish speaker stands with free shipping ???
The Monoliths from Monoprice are the same stands from Audio Advisor only they're half the cost at $54 ea. I own them and filled them with playground sand that I purchased from my local neighborhood hardware store. I don't see any reason to pay mor...
my impression with the Auralic Altair G1
John is my dealer as well. I ended up going with the Lumin T2 but I heard the Altair at John's place. My impression was that it was a very musical streamer. I could be happy with either product really. Congrats!
Please help my ignorant a$$, I just want a good streamer...I think.
I would think that the Lumin U1 mini would certainly best your Node 2i. I have the Lumin T2 and am really happy with it. One caveat, the Lumin app is not the most user-friendly or intuitive at times. As treynolds155 said, I too have been in the IT...
BELLES VIRTUOSO INTEGRATED UPDATE
My guess is David Belles is too busy cranking out units for his happy customers to update his website. But yes, they are available. Just give John Rutan a call at AudioConnection in Verona, NJ.  I'm waiting on an Aria Sig pre myself.
Does the Vandersteen 1C Hold Up to Modern Standards?
Vandersteen does not upgrade a model unless there is a true sonic improvement. If it were me I'd try and find a pair of 1Ci's. I got mine for a really good deal and I use them in my 2nd system.
Tiny Room (6' x 9') speaker advice
+1 for the Wharfedale Lintons at $1,800 with stands. They have a real vintage vibe and sound great.  If you’re a fan of Vandersteen speakers. You could go with the VLR Wood at $1,800 or you could reach a little higher and go for the VLR Carbon Tw...
Help with finding a new streamer.
I currently have a Bluesouond Node 2 and a Lumin T2. I was loaned an Innuous Zen mini mk III. My recommendation, if you can swing it, is to go for the Lumin U1 mini. This way you can continue to bring your own DAC to the party and upgrade along th...
Dust cover for my dust cover?
I work in a manufacturing facility that produces components that are highly sensitive to electrostatic discharge. We have these ESD workstation cloths all over the plant to protect our components and assemblies. I use one to cover my turntable.  ...
