Bigger drivers = bigger soundstage
The larger the cone, the harder it is to achieve the required stiffness while keeping mass reasonable. Your large speaker may be louder and more efficient, but what about cone breakup, whizzering where the outside does not move with the inside, et...
Can Static Destroy Electronics?
I think your analysis is quite possibly spot on! Well done. I didn't realize your pre-amp was ungrounded. You are correct, without that AC ground, the spark is going to find a new path to ground.
Rega Planar 3 : Heavily upgraded yet produces a sound that I don't like
This is the link to read.http://www.extremephono.com/Loading.htmThe circuit would typically be an R-C in series and that is placed between the +/- at the input to the amp (or in the amp).  Most cartridges today into a higher impedance load (the Li...
Class D
I smell another fuserSorry, not a "fuser" but I do understand AC circuits. Not so sure you do based on your posts.People, shillers and manufactures saying Class-D already great and is better than the best linear amps, which it’s far from yet. Ma...
Class D
I don't know what his agenda is, but given he spreads grossly false information and refuses, absolutely refuses to educate himself such that he understands the statements he makes, I don't get it at all.Come on George several messages above I went...

Agreed Duke, thank you for clarifying what I wrote.

Compatible impedance and best impedance for optimal frequency response are not the same thing.Did you follow the link I provided on optimal impedance matching?
Living with unsolvable hum - Any audio detectives out there?
Literally the first line in the ops post:For over a year I have put up with a hum in my system, coming through the speakers (not chassis hum).
From Canada to USA - buying used stereo from private sale
Used does not matter, country of manufacturing sets the tariff (if any). Usually low.  Get close on the tariff code.  You can usually do a basic web search and get something accurate. Taxes will need to be paid going into Canada on sale amount. Th...

The larger the driver the worse the dispersion. That's basic acoustics. Only way to change that is with acoustics lenses. Then again you have two different rooms so the discussion has hit its end.
Can Static Destroy Electronics?
Touching the AC metal case of any of your equipment will quickly discharge you. If you don't want a shock use a wrist band that adds a 1M resistor to limit current (same as the mat).
A deeper more holographic soundstage.
So if you have a grid of 12, and they are not synchronized with each other, then how do you know they are not all cancelling each other out? It's a shame an RF engineer (or any engineer for that matter) did not design those. He would have had the s...
High end Class D amps?
Your source better have low output impedance as well. The NC500 modules are fairly low impedance on the input.georgehifi8,196 posts01-03-2021 9:17pmOr even better if your source has balanced output and enough gain, feed it direct into the NC500 ...
Class D
zappas OP Ask yourself why all the Ncore data sheets have the 2 ohm power ratings in the data sheet right near the top. Some people never move forward and have to bring up a one time comparison of a $40,000 dollar amplifier against $10,000 amplifi...
Class D
But, of course, this isn’t the case. Typical class D amps are 90% or more efficient into 8 ohms (at max output power), but efficiency drops by approximately 40% into 4 ohms, and 40% again at 2 ohms. I am not sure you wrote this correctly. I think ...
