AtmaSphere Upgrade from Mk 3.1 to Mk 3.3
@The update causes blacker backgrounds with a smoother and more detailed presentation. The new Constant Current Source (CCS) has nearly 2 orders of magnitude greater performance- and results in greater differential effect in the voltage amplifier....

atmasphere I'm not questioning if you have a conversation with JC.Good. Because you misread an earlier comment of mine and came up with this nonsense:Atmasphere mentioned WBF where JC participated and in that forum JC never mentioned that " limit...

I'd imagine the compliance change may not be big in the manufacturer specified load range so no one cares. Plus load optimization is usually done by ear anyway. There is something called the 'Grado dance' that has to do with the low output Gr...
AtmaSphere Upgrade from Mk 3.1 to Mk 3.3
There is a member who picked up a set of MA-1 Silver Editions and had them updated to Mk3.3. They were previously at the Mk3.1 level, so his comments are exactly about what you are asking:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/atma-sphere-updates

If I were you I would have the tubes tested first. You may find that's all that's going on.
Cool running amplifier
@bdgregory IIRC that amp has a programmable menu. Go into the menu and shut down all the DSP functions and the like. You may notice it sounding even better.

As for 47K being the optimal load, I see all kinds of manufacturers suggesting values other than 47K as the optimal load for their cartridges.  47K is the industry standard; as far as what it the optimal load that is what this thread is about ...
atmasphere 6as7g output tubes.
The power output of the tubes has little to do with the bias point. If anything, reducing the bias current will cause the amp to make slightly more power. The RCAs are properly biased in the amp and will hold up alright if correctly preconditioned...
Leben CS600 or Atmasphere or ARC
I can't speak to which sounds better, but if you're looking at Atma-Sphere as a possibility, its the M-60 that would be the candidate. The Devores are easy to drive and an extremely good match with our amps. The M-60s will make about 60 watts on t...

I wouldn't worry about whether a cartridge is a voltage or current generator- the simple fact is current does not exist without voltage and vice versa. I think this might have come up on account of current amplifier phono sections, which have that...

My personal take on it is that the coil generates what you tell it to. Leave it open it generates voltage, Load it down it generates current.@intactaudio To be clear, a current amplifier does not significantly load the cartridge. The 'zero ohms'...

I guess Svetlana vs RCA you have to compromise on something, and I also guess your "bias" is tailored to the Russian tube not the RCA They both bias to the same point.

So, your " limit trace ..." statement continue be false.Your feculent argument is also specious. You can't have it both ways.

"" electrical damping of an electro-mechanical transducer results in less high frequency output of that transducer. ""no one is questioning that ( at least not now. and is not what I asked several times here and in other threads. ).So we are in...

Your post is not an answer to what I asked to you:Simply put, I've answered your question directly several times in this thread alone. I've been avoiding saying this, but at this point its apparent that you don't understand the answer;  you respon...
