*L* djones, it seems nearly any trade has it's own lingo....I look at the NWS pages for their weather info, maps, radar, satellite imagery because we work outdoors as much as in shop.  Reading the 'forecast discussion' is where the 'real meat' is,...

The recording of Ms Jarosz' "House of Mercy" is a treat for me.  Spare, simple, and capture of acoustic guitars in a way that reminds me of sitting next to one being played in a quiet room...Having been in that situation, it invokes memories of da...

...one should also note the $ spent on the equipment employed to allow her to do her job.......and How she listens to the 'product' in her car...You might hate and squirm at the 'Low Common Denominator' factor in that.....but that's the market.You...
What is "break in" and what difference does it make? In amps? Preamps? Speakers? More?
*L* ....and "what's wrong with audiophiles?" has been beaten into a coma already...and what's left is developing an 'aroma'.....Perhaps the best advice I can offer the OP comes from M. Python's 'Holy Grail' epic:"RUN AWAY!" *L*   (Give thanks and ...
Does Digital Try Too Hard?
@cleeds , thanks for the link...'lollipop' markers and all...;)  Noting that the vid is also from 2013-ish does allow for the improvements of DAC's and digital clock speeds.  24/96 seems to be (more or less) being considered 'acceptable' generally...
Welcome to Pro Audio
@axememan...Using Behringer products; 2 Ultra-curve 8024 eq's, an Ultra-drive 2496 xover, and an Ultra-pro MX882 splitter/mixer.  The latter is for muddling around with feeds to my back channels, varying what & how much 'goes there'.  Cheap th...

Does Digital Try Too Hard?
@terry9 ....and that's where the algorithms have been dispatched to 'smooth' the 'lumps 'n bumps'.  DAC's have made tremendous inroads in that regard....*S*   No end in sight...or for D amps, either. As processors speeds continue to accelerate (Moo...
Who else here is frugal?
@glupson...and I didn't respond to your query re 'homes', which I meant as a 'owned residence'; a single-family house.  As opposed to an apartment, condo, or that which one can't 'enhance' without raising ire or some similar crop of irritance..;)Y...
