Older Dynavector 17d2 mII vs 20x2l
@chakster From my understanding, suspension can be a problem with any cartridge .What makes the Karat different? As to my comment, I'll share my opinions as I please. If you disagree, then say so. But forget telling me what I can and cannot post. ...
Older Dynavector 17d2 mII vs 20x2l
One consideration is the age. Over time the suspension becomes a problem. So I’d be careful of cartridge over 8-10 yrs old. That cartridge is suspect to being too old and may have a stiff suspension. That may be the reason for the low price
MC 240 ReTube or Replace
I doubt that amp technology has changed very much. There is better parts available today. But you're already replaced some parts. A set of tubes is much cheaper than an amp.  BTW I really like the 7581 tubes.

Putting an end to the audio cable debate! Part 1
I tend to agree with both of you. I actually might categorize it as little more than click bait which is why I was hesitant to even post it. But who knows? maybe someone will get something worthwhile from the questions he poses
What type of preamp do I use for an Electret stylus ?
Based on my use of electret condenser microphones, I’d say a special preamp is not necessary. Any phono preamp should work.

High Fidelity Cables, why most threads about them got deleted
@ carlsbad Because they are a polarizing issue, a lot like politics. With all due respect that is BS. The vast majority of those who cause the disruption have NEVER TRIED the product. Most are using ten cent equipment and wouldn't spend a nicke...

Cellular phone and speakers?
Why not just buy a bluetooth speaker for the Iphone? Good enough for background music and cheaper (& easier) than the alternatives presented
