Ridiculous assertions that someone is being ripped off or conned
I agree with @teo_audio But we are rapidly approaching the point where ’opting out’ of the conflict that is encountered... where the insanity of such projections in weakness of mental capacity, hearing capacity, reasoning capacity and civility ...
To DAC or not to DAC ?
Good call @audiotroy
If a " system " cannot do this, I move on........
When boys get toys, they play with them. This is true of recording engineers also. I really like the 60's Motown sound. R&B and others are plagued by Phil Spector's wall of sound. It worked good for AM radio. But it sounds awful on a good syst...
suspending monitors from the ceiling
@big_greg I did the same thing with my turntable back in the 70’s. There were never any skip, no matter how much partying was done. I’d do the same thing again if my TT didn’t weigh 125 lbs.   BTW, that streamer sounds very good when fed a goo...
Quoting from another post.
@russ69  Because the function isn't that great....just a faded bar on the side, not so good I'm not sure why you can't see that the font is different and the quote is indented? This is standard writing procedure.
To DAC or not to DAC ?
@fullers   Yes. I’m not familiar with the McIntosh preamp but I suspect it is a worthy upgrade.. I am partial to Conrad Johnson preamp myself. You may want to consider this one along with the McIntosh and choose the appropriate one for your nee...
To DAC or not to DAC ?
+1 @ghdprentice  I might be inclined to skip the DAC and get a preamp that matches the amp and speaker quality. As has been said, you have 2 really good pieces which are being held back from their ability to produce very good sound imo.
suspending monitors from the ceiling
@erik_squires What is the difference between suspension and springs which allows movement in all directions? Townshend's platforms come to mind.
Herbie’s Super Black Holes
@roxy54    I have a Theta Miles CDP which uses the pioneer platter. it still benefits from better footers. In my case I use my DIY roller block. Might try springs to see if they are better. but the roller blocks are a very good upgrade
Wilson not delivering speakers as scheduled
@ozzy62 I'm amazed when the obvious goes unseen,   denied & then the witness ridiculed. I remember trying to point out something to a dog and they just looked at my finger.kinda like battered wife syndrome. Get the he** beat out of you on a re...
Pairing Lyngdorf 2170 with REL T9x
You need to follow step 2   Next, connect a long RCA-RCA interconnect from either an unused input on a preamp or receiver to the REL’s .1/LFE input. Do this even if you have no interest in theater, you are creating an audio ground, nothing more...
I did the right thing after all.
Congratulations. I have read so many good reviews that I'd love to try them myself. However, since my system is in the LR, these (and most of Tekton) floor standers are too tall.
Seeing sounds and music.....
@mahgister I have never been exposed to ideas put forth by you and others. So I thanks you for making me aware of these things, even though I have never had such thingsFor me, music has filled many needs over my lifetime. It has been a life long f...
The return of the DIYer
+1 @ mrklas We indeed do live in a world of specialization. And this specialization has brought about a society which has knowledge of one small piece of the pie. Yet fewer than ever understand what the whole pie is supposed to taste likeI’m with...
