Any Brands You “Hate” because of a bad dealer experience many years ago?
I'll see your Z1 & raise you a Yammy XS11 Special. Luxman is the brand that I see and just pass by hurriedly. Dealer had nothing to do with it. I bought it (R115 receiver) to replace a Harmon Kardon 730. I HATED it. No bass line but a thump. ...
Best Way to Split Amplifier Output Frequencies to Main Speakers and Subwoofer
Rel has a  high level input. IOW you just connect the sub to the speaker terminals on the back of the receiver. Then adjust accordingly. They integrate well and make the mains sound better. The trick is to keep the volume & crossover as low as...

I am thankful to God for choosing me, an atheist, when I didn't have the good sense to do so. Thanks for allowing me to face cancer and look death in the face  and teaching me the things that really matter in life. Thanks for a great wife who has ...

Bought the wrong subwoofer!
I’m not sure that is a problem. The sub itself should attenuate the signal by setting the crossover and the gain/ volume. This is off the top of my head thinking but I have had my coffee. So I can’t even use that as an excuse if I am. BTW what in...

60 wpc is plenty of power for home stereo. Pick the one you like.
Bought the wrong subwoofer!
Crazy idea but have you tried the rec out to the subs input? I’m not sure if it will work but it carries the same signal as pre out BTW you may want to read the owner manual on using the rec out and if you have to do something to initiate the rec ...
Subwoofers: speaker level vs line level
Or, if continuing to bi-wire, switching to spade connectors for towers while using bananas to sub? This is exactly what I do on the amp end. Neutrik connection plugs into the sub.
Rel Does Not Recomment Isolation Stands
@jimcrane I have been running Rel’s for 15-20 yrs. They sound great and integrate extremely well. No worries about performance...unless you isolate them. I wouldn't give up on them The secret is to keep the crossover point as low as possible. V...
Rel Does Not Recomment Isolation Stands
@oldhvymec I understand. As I said, I was somewhat shocked when I learned this. From an engineering standpoint, it seems wrong. However, I have had them for 15-20 yrs and they sound great to me. Integrating with the speakers is very easily done ...
