Streaming Sound Quality - Want the very best sound quality? Network Acoustics ENO... My point is that consumer level cd players distort, pretty sure that Qobuz has direct streaming access from servers.
Quick USB question There are cheap and efficient USB port replicators on Amazon. I’d stay away from simple splitters. Google USB bridge.
Streaming Sound Quality - Want the very best sound quality? Network Acoustics ENO... While I zapped my Cds on an Audioaero Capitole 24/192 MK2 and not on the Zenith directly, I believe my streaming to now be superior to the SSD. I don’t believe that ripping is entirely lossless nor is direct reading from disc.
cheapest cable upgrade ever @ozzy may I suggest you try 2 AAA’s on the ethernet to the streamer and the USB to the Dac? In my case it really worked
cheapest cable upgrade ever Best I know the Zobel is for impedance matching. I use a SteinMusic Speaker Match for the same purpose. The litz has a weaker effect because of lesser skin effect. If you feel pesky, try on the ethernet connection on the streamer. Max effect after...
cheapest cable upgrade ever @ozzy give it ‘til tomorrow…Is the Townshend litz or solid core?
cheapest cable upgrade ever The effect is strongest on larger diameter single core cables, significantly less on litz, where skin effect is less of an issue.
Ditch your USB cable for Toslink? Might surprise you! @Koestner, there are divergent views on that one: I keep my USBconnction as short as possible. John Senson at Uptone sells a one piece USB fixed circuit board connection. The SP/Dif minimum limit is to avoid reflections in the cable. Best I know ...
Ditch your USB cable for Toslink? Might surprise you! @treynolds155 Assuming a properly implemented asynchronous USB connection, the Dac slaves the server to its clock, i.e. the Dac’s clock controls the chain. Assuming a high quality clock in the DAC this ascertains absence of timing errors, aka ji...
Basic switch....should I upgrade? I guess the InnuOS Phoenix Ehrerregen is the most credible attempt by a manufacturer so far. Disappointing, though that there seems to be no common clock between the two Phoenixes (Etherregen, USB), the server and the DAC in that model.
Basic switch....should I upgrade? @lalitk, again: agreed. Given the substantial impact of the 10m clock on the Etherregen as well as the contribution of the Ocxo-switch I am not convinced that mere filtering suffices, though…
Basic switch....should I upgrade? @lalitk, good analogy, only difference: I prevent muck from coming in rather than water leaking out😇. Scary though how every little bit helps. You‘d think a decent designer could do better!
Ditch your USB cable for Toslink? Might surprise you! The OP omits the clock synchronisation in USB that slaves the server to the DAC. A well clocked USB asynchronous connection with a good cable in normal circumstances is superior to Toslink.
What cable companies make the best cables and sell them directly? On analogue cables I highly recommend Auditorium23, the next best thing to Shindo. On digital Sommercables is a great choice
Basic switch....should I upgrade? @wsrrsw, Glad to hear it‘s working. Although it sounds like overkill, I use an Ethernet isolator (EMO EN70-HD) directly at the streamer for good effect (l.e. after the Etherregen‘s moat) Don‘t know why but it works a treat. If you want to go furt... |
