Holo Audio Titanis The Phoenix in my mind is a bit of a kludge: rather than improving the overall clocking of the Dac and by asynchronous USB the connection and slaving to the server it only addresses the latter. Reclocking the Dac is more powerful, that’s the route...
Uptone Audio LPS-1.2 Failures Lots of complaints here without stating whether Uptone support their products. This thread seems malevolent. Products have a warranty and only if the vendor didn‘t support its products would that be newsworthy.
cheapest cable upgrade ever Finally got around trying this on my BNC clock cables as well: works! having done all signal and clock cables now I feel I get much better impulse and spatial rendition
cheapest cable upgrade ever Dear all, on RCA, digital and ethernet: batteries close to the signal target with battery ‘-‘ to the source. On speakers: close to the speaker withsignal side with ‘-‘ to the amp, return with ‘-‘ to the speaker
cheapest cable upgrade ever Definitely not on fibre. maybe on the router access? Or do you use fibre there too?
Streaming Sound Quality - Want the very best sound quality? Network Acoustics ENO... My point is that consumer level cd players distort, pretty sure that Qobuz has direct streaming access from servers.
Quick USB question There are cheap and efficient USB port replicators on Amazon. I’d stay away from simple splitters. Google USB bridge.
Streaming Sound Quality - Want the very best sound quality? Network Acoustics ENO... While I zapped my Cds on an Audioaero Capitole 24/192 MK2 and not on the Zenith directly, I believe my streaming to now be superior to the SSD. I don’t believe that ripping is entirely lossless nor is direct reading from disc.
cheapest cable upgrade ever @ozzy may I suggest you try 2 AAA’s on the ethernet to the streamer and the USB to the Dac? In my case it really worked
cheapest cable upgrade ever Best I know the Zobel is for impedance matching. I use a SteinMusic Speaker Match for the same purpose. The litz has a weaker effect because of lesser skin effect. If you feel pesky, try on the ethernet connection on the streamer. Max effect after...
cheapest cable upgrade ever @ozzy give it ‘til tomorrow…Is the Townshend litz or solid core?
cheapest cable upgrade ever The effect is strongest on larger diameter single core cables, significantly less on litz, where skin effect is less of an issue.
Ditch your USB cable for Toslink? Might surprise you! @Koestner, there are divergent views on that one: I keep my USBconnction as short as possible. John Senson at Uptone sells a one piece USB fixed circuit board connection. The SP/Dif minimum limit is to avoid reflections in the cable. Best I know ...
Ditch your USB cable for Toslink? Might surprise you! @treynolds155 Assuming a properly implemented asynchronous USB connection, the Dac slaves the server to its clock, i.e. the Dac’s clock controls the chain. Assuming a high quality clock in the DAC this ascertains absence of timing errors, aka ji...
Basic switch....should I upgrade? I guess the InnuOS Phoenix Ehrerregen is the most credible attempt by a manufacturer so far. Disappointing, though that there seems to be no common clock between the two Phoenixes (Etherregen, USB), the server and the DAC in that model. |
