Vibration isolation or absorption?
This is a very complex but important subject. As others have pointed out, whether to absorb or transmit vibration depends on the floor, the equipment and personal preferences. After thirty years of experiments these are my findings: On speakers....

@atmasphere @donsachs Thanks for highlighting the dependence of power tubes on driver tubes as well as on power supplies and transformers. My Wavac EC300B depending on whether I use EAT300bs with their preferred Tungsols 6L6 Coke bottles or Taka...

What would cause noise (ground noise?) when touching the volume control and tone controls?

A cheap addition would be a PinkFaun Isolator going into the Devialet. You might be pleasantly surprised. Also adding a quality clock to the Etherregen and more importantly a better power supply has major benefits
Grimm MU1 Streamer - Really "The Best"?
The Phoenix Net is in no small portion a reclocker. In my system I reclock the ethernet with both an Etherregen clocked by Antelope 10m preceded by a LHYaudio Ocxo switch. The effect of both is demonstrable and not achievable by Isolators or filte...

Making speakers “disappear”…..
Unfortunately there is no hard and fast rule. Much depends on room geometry incl. height and damping. As a general rule on conventional speakers the time difference between direct sound and first reflection point has the most important impact on p...
