An Audio Conversation with ChatGPT @antigrunge2 having huge power reserves to drive peak loads on inefficient speakers and avoid clipping requires large PSUs creating strong electric fields with their own interference and hum issues. Better use smaller amps à la Nelson Pass‘ Fir...
An Audio Conversation with ChatGPT This all reads like an advertisement for high efficiency speakers and low output amps: large power supplies generate more noise and stronger electric fields. So rather than muscle amps first Watt focus seems the better approach.
ARE SUPER EXPENSIVE STREAMERS REALLY WORTH IT This thread started in the right place: clean power and optimal clocking are the most important ingredients of a good system. Clocking unfortunately comes in various flavours: incoming signal, whether ethernet or fibre, streamer output to DDC or ...
What are people using to upgrade from Channel D Pure Music to play from iTunes I changed from Puremusic on a tuned Mac Mini to InnuOS Zenith Mk3 on now Sense 3 five years ago. Never looked back, SQ is night and day.
Power conditioners and power regeneration …a splatter crapper?
Power conditioners and power regeneration @ghdprentice tut, tut, tut… Seems he‘s been barely getting here….And his contribution isn‘t much to talk about either….oh well….
ADD Powr Products opinions please. @ozzy Have you tried it plugged into the Niagara directly? That’s how I use it on my Isotek. No complaints on excessive presence
ADD Powr Products opinions please. I do indeed. The Symphony Pro sits below my Etherregen which sits behind an LHY ocxo swith and 3 Ehrenet Isolators in series. Not sure how much rhe Symphony Pro contributes
ADD Powr Products opinions please. Symphony pro and Eau2 here and I concur with your view. I have the Eau2 onmy Isotek Vision and the Symphony pro in the shelf under dac and streamer. It‘s staying where it is and bang for the buck is superb.
Replace tubes yearly? One can only marvel at the occasional nonsense spouted by the industry greats: small signal tubes especially but even the venerable 300b were designed for >20000 Hours of service. So even if you were stupid enough to keep them permanently power...
Neat "Tweaks" to improve the SQ of your streamed music!!! Just to add: I added the iSilencer between the wall outlet and the modem/router rather than on the router output. It requires RJ11 to RJ45 conversion and back but is well woth the effort.
Neat "Tweaks" to improve the SQ of your streamed music!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3xQjQhdGUw a good and fair review, The recommendation to use on the modem/router agrees with my own experience having tried modem, streamer and switch. In terms of value for money this is very high up there
It Pegged the Needle on My "BS Meter". Now, I'm A Believer. Ever Happen to You? @tomic601 +1
Ethernet @mikhailark you need to read up on this: fiber does not suffer from the noise incursions I highlighted but from noise generated during ethernet to fibre conversion. The problem isn’t that packets get truncated or don’t get there at all; it’s tha...
Ethernet @mikhailark audio isn’t digital since analogue noise messes with the subsequent D/A signal conversion; i.e. RMI/EFI or ground level noise matter in audio, not digital. |
