VPI Classic hum Another thing peter lederman at soundsmith told me was that the wire coming out of the tonearm of the classic that plugs into the junction box is un-shielded wire. This wire can pickup interference. I took a single strand of copper wire about the ...
VPI Classic hum You will really enjoy that soundsmith cartridge. Mine sounds great on the classic 1
Why do my rolling stones albums sound bad? I do have an SACD player but, no stones albums for it. I might pick up a copy to try out.
Why do my rolling stones albums sound bad? I did purchase a new pressing of some girls live in texas '78. It was recently remastered from the original multitrack tapes to a 2-channel mix by bob clearmountain. Hopefully this pressing will have more life. I will report back on it in a few days

Why do my rolling stones albums sound bad? I will agree with this to a certain point but, there is alot of other music I love besides the stones. I don't want to sacrifice my setup that sounds great for all my other albums. I was just hoping that someone could point me in the right directi...
Get Stoned I do own a VPI classic 1 but, not the SDS controller. I am powering my classic 1 with the purepower 1050 AC regenerator. The purepower unit does output a true 60hz/120v feed. I haven't detected any flaw in speed stability so far. If it is off spee...
Why do my rolling stones albums sound bad? I don't think my system is to be blamed for the bad sound as pretty much every other album I own sounds good. Some of them great. I don't feel the need to re-think or alter my system to get three stones albums to sound good.

Why do my rolling stones albums sound bad? It is disappointing to me that they recorded it this way. Surely they must have known at the time of release it sounded like ****. Why they wanted this type of sound, I'm not sure. Obviously, it worked well for them and was successful. I was just ...
Why do my rolling stones albums sound bad? I wasn't aware of that. That's too bad as I love their music. I wonder why they would intentionally record it to sound that way.
VPI Classic hum I own a classic 1 and am using a soundsmith boheme. I have no hum at all and it sounds great on the classic. People also report having good success with the soundsmith zephyr as it was designed for JMW arms.
Wish List For Vinyl Pressings The Beatles - Abbey road and white album 180gr. 45rpm. remastered from original analogue source and kept analogue.
turntable isolation feet I just installed bearpaws on my classic 1. I haven't had a chance to do a sit down and really listen. I just spun a couple of tracks but, I can hear a difference. I can't put my finger on what I hear different just yet but, it does sound good. I a...
Upgrade a Dynavector 20X2 H on a VPI table Interesting. I have a soundsmith boheme cartridge on my classic 1. I have read alot of good reviews of the lyra delos with the JMW 10.5 arm. This is making me have second thoughts. Maybe I should give the zephyr a try. The zephyr was developed to ... |
