B&W N803 VS Sonus Faber Cremona
Two very different speakers. I agree with Bigkidz on the generalities. If you feel that your current setup needs warmth, the SF and McIntosh will do it. If you feel it is fine, then stick with B&W. Chances are, if you like one speaker, you won...
Soundstage and voices lean to the left side????
I have also noticed that it is the recording. I have many CDs too that favor the left channel.
What speaker is best for Mcintosh 6900?
I love my JM Lab 926s with my McIntoshes. The 6900 will work well with just about any speakers. I have heard one with B&W N803 and it was very nice. You just have to decide what kind of sound you like and go from there.
Seeking warm, smooth musical amp 2k with features
I tried an ARC 100.2 for a while but I didn't find it as smooth or musical as my McIntosh MC7200. You say you are looking for an amp but then the text suggests you meant "integrated." For a $2k budget and your system, I would get a McIntosh MA6500...
What amp/reciever for JM Labs 906?
Congratulations on your speakers. I have a pair of 926s and love them very much. So far, I have liked McIntosh amps the best with them. The McIntosh highs are perfect IMO and the JM's tweeter lets it come through in full glory. Following are used ...
Down-graded and happy?
Here is what I found works best and has taught me a lot:I buy one component and then I buy all the direct competitors, one at a time, in the same price range. I keep the better of the two each time. This way, after trying a few, I have the best in...
Does anyone rember how to calculate impedance?
You will have load-sharing problems if you connect them in series because not all 8-ohm speakers have the same impedance curves. I would not recommend it. If you amp is tough, hook them up in parallel. Arthur
Curious about the PrimaLuna
Have you seen the review in the latest Dec. 2004 TAS? There is little meat, like most articles in TAS, but it is something at the very least. Arthur
Krell FPB 200c lack of Power?
Sounds to me like there is nothing wrong. Volume knobs are relative, not absolute. Just crank it up! Arthur
Best Amp for Audible Illusions 3A tube or SS
What are your speakers and room size? If you like tubes but want no maintenance, try the McIntosh MC352 - it will power any room or speakers. Arthur
Speakers suggestions for Rotel components
Sounds like you should try Vandersteen 2ce Signatures. If you can spend a little more, I second the Sonus Faber Grand Piano which look much nicer. Either way, both of these models will keep your Rotels under control.

Proceed vs. McIntosh
I guess you know Proceed is out of business. I am not sure how well Harmon is doing with maintenance on them but thought I would mention it in case you don't know. You are comparing two pretty different approaches so it will depend on your taste f...
McIntosh MC402
TAS had a rave review of the MC402 and C46 a few months ago and they received a Golden Ear award in the latest issue. Also, Stereophile rated the MC501 as their Amplifier of the Year in the Dec. issue. Check it out for their glowing opinions if yo...
mcintosh mc2505- need some advice
Despite the autoformer, on the early SS amps the damping factor is like 10. The newer autoformer Mc amps get up close to 100 which is good enough for just about any speaker - but 10 is pushing it. However, the LS3/5A would be good and probably any...
