I can't speak for this Grado.I have a Silver Grado with VPI MK3 Table, and was at one time having problems with mine similar to yours, and had to use a better shielded toenarm cable straight din to RCA onto the phono of preamp.

The original MIT Shotgun 750 Speaker Cable. When it first came out ,this stuff was just huge. The original music hose,But double in size and double the cable.A MANS CABLE FOR SURE.
Sunfire Signature or Aragon 8008BB to power SL3?
To get the wide deep soundstage I would get an ARC VT-100.I'm using a ARC VT-60 on my Martin Logan Quest Z's and have them biwired with great sucess. If u don't have provision for biwire on the SL-3's then you would need to move up to the ARC VT-10...

What is the life of a Grado Wood cartridge?
So 2 hours of playing a day would put you at about 1year and 4 months for a 1,000 hour usage. If memory serves me correct my old AT20SL lasted way over 5 years plus.Maybe we got more bang for are buck back in the 70's and early 80's.Just a Thought.
Has anybody Cryo'd their complete amp-results?
I was thinking of doing the same thing to my entire tonearmand phono cartridge, but I'm backing away from the idea.In your case I was told never to have electrolytics cryo'd.I'm not sure if you have any of these in your amp.But I would deffinately ...

Chill out, Have a beer and relax.iF i gave the impression I was attacking the honesty of Mr. Chapis I did not mean to infer that.I was just trying to bring out the differences of opiniion from what a dealer said to me and what was stated by Mr. Ch...
What is the life of a Grado Wood cartridge?
If Mr.Chapis states his cartridge last that long I will take his word for it.I just wanted to hear it from the engineer's skillful hands.WHAT HE SAYS IS THE GOSPEL TRUTH.Actually I was surprised to talk with him directly. He seemslike a very frank ...

I bought a Conrad Johnson PV-5 with an ARC VT-60,after being away from tubes for 20 years and I'm glad I did.I'm never turning back again, and I'm back into spinning LP's once more.Once u taste it your hooked!
