New Outlets Lead to Better Sounding and Tasting Coffee
I have a small kitchen so I found a built in coffee maker made by Brew Express. It is hard wired, no outlet and has a direct feed from my breaker panel. It also has a 1/4" water line feeding it which is connected into my home R.O. filtration syste...
Do I need 10 gauge power cord if I have 10 gauge from panel?
@Ditsua: What is the current rating on that Crown amp?
Coaxials - Reality vs. Experience?
Terminology gets a little confusing...What is the name given to a full range drivers without crossover vs full range with crossover?
Vintage amplifier specifications
So two pair of speakers weren't necessarily amp killers in the days of yore so perhaps those old amps were more tolerant with beefier construction than I suspected. Now days the low impedance load handled by amplifiers are selling points or bragg...
Vintage amplifier specifications
I should add that a lot of those old amplifiers, usually integrated had hookups for two sets of speakers which could really drop the total impedance. Maybe a lot of those old units had short lives or they could handle it without issue?
Question on component impedance mismatch
Wlutke: There is a volume control and I forgot to employ it. I have a blue sound player that has the option for unadjustable volume, a factory default or variable. when I go to variable the gain is greatly reduced. What's funny is when in the var...
Question on component impedance mismatch
You're probably right, gain. I thought impedance somehow was part of the gain equation, but I stand corrected. I just don't like how low I have to keep the volume knob and was thinking the attenuators would reduce the amount of gain. If that is n...
BluSound Node and Node 2
I have five, one blue sound vault and 4 of the original nodes for quite a few years. They have been pretty reliable however on occasion they will get flaky. I am able to resolve using the following: Reboot router and modem power down and back up...
Power cable for Bryston
I believe Bryston Company frowns upon "hopped up" power cables. I was having a problem with my 4BSST2 amplifier where it occasionally go off on a safety lockout. I called technical support and they really drilled with me with questions concerning ...
Temporary Down Sizing - Integrated Amp Recommendations
Used Hegel H190 as posted above or used Hegel H160 for lower cost.
NAD M23 Stereo Amplifier: Best Amp Ever Bench Tested?!?
I have an NAD C298 with NAD's Purify implementation and think it's great. I really can't tell it apart from my Luxman M900U, but as someone else posted: "I don't have bat ears" applies to me as well.

Bragging rights.....
I've got a lot of separates and I'm not ready to part with them, but I recently bought a used Hegel H160 for my office and added one component, blue sound node for streaming and really, really like what it produces. While the streamer is separate ...
Where did you buy your first audio gear?
Team Electronics Menominee Michigan, 1976. Pioneer receiver SX something or other, small one only put out 15 or so watts. Also purchased Pioneer PL512 turntable that I still have.
B.S. Node 2i brick (yet another one)
I've got one vault over the 3 year mark and 4 nodes that have been flawless. I bought a couple of the nodes on eBay a couple of years ago so I'm not sure of the age of those units.
