Is there such a thing as a good medium priced music streamer?
I like my Bluesound streamer(s). However the recently released "upgrade" I find a little less intuitive than the previous. Still a pretty good app though.
Are you on or off? What say you?
Off for now. I have enough different components that I can mix and match when I desire a different sound.
Need a new integrated, what say you?
I bought a used Hegel H160 a couple of year ago and think it is a wonderful integrated amp.
Bluesound "upgrade" 4.0
I had a list of issues with both the Mac desktop version as well the Android app that was too long to list. I was having serious doubts, but all appears well now. Whew! Amazing how much I rely on my streaming system and how frustrating it can be...
Sansui?
Might want to check in with the Audiokarma website. Those folks are knowledgeable on the vintage stuff and you're less likely to encounter a flame war.
How easily can you distinguish between different DACs?
I don't have really expensive DAC's, but what I do have are: Bryston BDA2 Dedicated DAC Internal DAC on my McIntosh C47 preamp Internal DAC on my HEGEL H160 integrated Topping D30 Pro Dedicated DAC Internal DAC on my Bluesound player When I ...
Ground Loop?
I once had a ground loop thet crept up when I had my preamplifier on one circuit and my amplifier on the other. These circuits came from different phases in my main breaker box. When I got the amp and preamp on the same phase the issue went away. ...
Class D amplifiers. What's the future look like?
I forgot to mention that the NAD C298 is a class D design.
Bluesound Vault position
Good point, curiousjim! Especially since ripping is well south of 1% of my Bluesound's function.
Bluesound Vault position
I've been playing music I've ripped to the hard drive and everything seems ok with that, but I haven't tried to rip anything yet...
Bluesound Vault position
I was thinking that since there is a place to slide a CD in, it may be position sensitive, like it wouldn't sit properly on the little spinner without the parallel force of gravity.
New Technics SL-1200GR2
I read a lot of good things about the Technics brand. When did they really up their game? I remember back when they were a RadioShack brand and just ok. I believe they were manufactured by Panasonic and maybe others back then.
Pathetic range of Topping remote
@czarivey I've never heard anyone use the term "vertically challenged" until I read it here.
The Ultimate Audio Modification: Golden Ears
Wouldn't a set of hearing aids also have its own sonic signature?
Hegel H160 and longevity
I have the H160 and not experienced the issue you mention. Once, and only once when I switched it on, no music. I had to unplug it from the power source and reenergize it--music returned. That is the only issue experienced.
