Yes remasters/ HDCD
Foster 9, I sense a bit of past tense in your post and I am hoping it relates only to the Yessongs LP! Ha! :-)Anderson, Howe, Squires, Wakeman, and White have been touring together as YES for the last couple of years and I have been lucky enough t...

No, you've taken me all wrong, Pat, or I wasn't clear. What I meant was that with all this talk of shoot-outs between TABLES, it's the wonder folks weren't clamoring for a shoot-out between R2R decks before using one to compare to the Linn table -...
Graham tonearm tweaking
Brad:I was told by Bob Graham that the blue fluid (if you can call it a fluid!) is the result of refined development and is superior to the older clear fluid. He mentioned the viscosity and breakdown properties being better. Never compared the two...

Patrick, I'm surprised some folks weren't then clamoring for a shoot-out betweeen R2R decks as a basis for deciding which to pit against the Linn. :-) I am beginning to agree with others who are souring on the whole shoot-out notion. May be kinda ...
Yes remasters/ HDCD
I know that this does not address Ben's question but, as a 30+ year fan of Yes, I cannot let a Yes thread pass without urging folks to spring for the Fragile LP - UK red/plum Atlantic pressing 2401019. It is absolutely stunning if you can find a m...
Graham tonearm tweaking
Not dense, but informative, and spot-on from my experience. Metralla, I sympathize with your plight but, in fairness, I'm not sure anyone can be expected to write in a form accpetable to a speech converter.
solid state gear- leave on?
So here's one. Say you have a SS amp and a tube linestage and/or phono stage, etc. Rule of thumb is amp last on - first off. So, if one wanted to leave the SS amp on "all the time", but wanted to turn off the tube component to conserve tube life, ...

Well, I’m kinda hoping that, rather than argue, it can be realized that we are all after the same thing here with respect to turntable performance. Whether it’s called PRaT, or whatever, aren’t we all looking for the visceral, emotion-filled, fait...

I like your half and half motto, Tom!
Is the Teres a
Whether some folks would admit it or not, or whether they'd actually try to disprove it or not, there is a great deal of merit in what Jean has to say. I will not attempt to compare the object of his challenge to any super high-end tables (e.g. a ...
About Lugnut -- Patrick Malone
Good to hear you in good spirits, Pat! Keep on spinnin'. :-)As aside, if you want to go to the end of a multi-page thread, just click on the >> "button" at the right side of the page (just to the right of the last page number visible). Larry...
TUBES 6922 pinched waist
The 6922 PQ's that Tvad references are top-flight, IMHO
TUBES 6922 pinched waist
OK, here is what I suggest. While it applies generally, it is particularly true f rthe tubes you reference. Buy only from a relaible dealer of tubes whom you know trust and/or who will trust you to return them if needed. These can be just fabulous...
How to clean Analysis Plus T1 spades ?
I was told by a maker of silver connectors to clean with a small soft rag using Brasso, then wipe clean with iso alcohol, then coat with ProGold.
Who's got the best user name?
LOL, Albert! That's yet another twist on the 4yanx moniker, which is actually quite pedestrian in comparison. I am reminded by an old buddy that it is also similar to the name of our intramural college basketball team: Four Jerks and a Dribble.
